The Rector Tells
Our university is located in the center of Denizli, in the form of 2 main campuses. Of these campuses, the campus we are currently on is the main campus.
Our other campus is in Çamlık. It includes the Denizli Technical Sciences Central Schools. Apart from this, we have campuses in districts. For instance in the Civil District, there are two faculties and a vocational high school. Right next to it, there are student dormitories belonging to the Credit and Dormitories Institution. In addition, there are alsı dormitories in Bekirli. We are a very large university located in a very wide area with a total of 17 vocational schools in 14 districts. Pamukkale University is a university located in the center with its main campuses. We are geographically close to the city. However, our integration with the city has developed rapidly, especially after the pandemic. It is a great advantage for our students that student dormitories, entertainment areas for students, cafes and cafeterias are located around the campus.
Student dormitories are in the center of the city, students can come to the university and their faculties within walking distance. We are a university integrated with industry, we have achieved this with the industry. Since they have switched to 3+1, 7+1 applied training with the 'My Work Place is My School' project, 300 of our students can do their internship and practical training in 700 workplaces. In Denizli, we have a chamber of industry, a chamber of commerce, a stock exchange, and an exporters union. We are close to all these non-governmental organizations. The biggest proof of this is our Teknokent partner. We manage the Technocity together alongside our partners. We produce projects together for Denizli. On the other hand, our Metropolitan Municipality provides all kinds of benefits for university students.
As long as we let them know their needs, they meet these needs quickly. To date, there has been no urban conflict in our university.
We provide plenty of facilities for our students to spend their free time.
We have 16 canteen cafeterias. We have a large library for 600 people. Apart from that, we have a separate small library in each faculty building. Apart from this, state theaters take the stage at least 3-4 times every month are also on campus. Our students are close from their dormitories and can attend the plays every month to meet their artistic needs. We have sports facilities and also smaller training areas dispersed around the campus.
In these areas, they cant rest, have fun.The most important feature of our campus is that it is on a forested mountain slope , and one of the biggest clubs of our students is the parachute club. This parachute club can occasionally land on our campus. They can take the cable cars to the top, and make their descent to the campus area. It is proof of how beautiful our campus is. Pamukkale University wants to be prominent in foreign student admissions. Because the city of Denizli is a very friendly and hospitable city, we expect foreign students. However, until today, the number of foreign students was around 1000. We plan to increase this number. Our students and foreign students are quite friendly. Foreign students do not experience social exclusion or any problems related to accomodation. We are in constant contact with them. There are psychological support units in every faculty and every building.
These psychological support units follow our students very closely, and tries to support the students who seem to be experiencing difficulties
Therefore, for our foreign students who cannot speak Turkish and cannot write in Turkish, are subject to a language course called PADAM. We also give Turkish certificates to those who complete this language course.
This certificate giving ceremony is also quite fun and exciting. We do not focus on few countries for foreign students. We want to accept foreign students from every country
We want to take students from Europe, Central Asia, the Balkans, the Middle East and Africa. We have students from Tanzania as well as from Kosovo and from France. Therefore, we attach great importance to this mosaic and the friendship of our foreign students with local students makes us happy. It is a great opportunity for home students to practice their language skills. Therefore it is a mutually advantageous relationship.
