ERASMUS Program

Hello, I'm Mustafa Bulut. I'm 22 years old. I am studying Business Administration in English at Pamukkale University. I am currently involved in the management of a couple of clubs and I am a student who participated in the Erasmus program. In order to benefit from the Erasmus program, you must have obtained a high GPA at the end of the semester, so that you can go to country that you’d like. You are subject to an exam conducted by the International Office. You need to obtain a good score in this exam as well. The institutions that the university has agreements with may vary from department to department. My department sends out the highest number of students compared to other departments. Spain, France, Germany and Poland are several of the countries that we have agreements with. I went to Spain. I studied there for a year and I can say that I benefited from the opportunities that were presented to me in Spain. The Erasmus program has given me a lot. Developing my foreign language skills was the most important benefit. Before, my speech was not fast, fluent or intelligible. After I went to Spain, I had the opportunity to meet people from various nationalities and improve my English language skills thanks to the conversations I had with them. I also had the opportunity to learn about different cultures. I'm also someone who has a passion for food. I learned about their national dishes, I had the opportunity to meet many people. My recommendations to students who will benefit from the Erasmus program are as follows. They should not only focus on the courses in the countries they go to. Because the Erasmus program is not just about education. I recommend them to give more importance to social activities and friendships. In this way, they can both improve their English skills and learn the language of the country they go to. They should try out the dishes and learn about the culture of the country they are visiting, so that they can better observe how people live. They should also adapt to the qualities of the country. The place I went to was a rainy place. Before I went, I made my preparations having that in mind and brought proper clothes, umbrellas with me.
