Faculty of Fine Arts and Design

Hello, I am Kadir SEVİM, the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design at Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University. I will give you a brief overview of our faculty. Our faculty started providing education in 2013 with the industrial design department, ceramic and glass departments, and also currently includes painting, interior architecture and environmental design departments, in addition to these two departments. With its educational facilities, equipment and infrastructure, as well as its competent academic staff, our faculty has become a recognized and rapidly developing faculty. At this point, both art and design events and scientific activities have become the main priorities of our faculty in terms of academic development. The combination of both art and design fields at our faculty creates a rich and creative atmosphere. The departments providing art education accept students through general aptitude exams, while the departments providing design education accept students based on central placement scores. During the 4-year Turkish-language education provided by our departments, our students have the opportunity to develop themselves by taking elective courses from the department, faculty, and university elective course pool according to their areas of interest and specialization, in addition to mandatory courses specific to their departments. If they wish, they may participate in the preparatory class program to improve their foreign language skills. Our faculty has sufficient infrastructure and equipment to provide education in accordance with the objectives of our active departments. For the design field, there are classrooms and design studios, and for the art field, there are workshops, laboratories, classrooms, and workspaces specific to the field. Additionally, the computer laboratory and seminar hall are available for use by all of our departments. Students can learn what it’s like to work whilst studying, thanks to internships that are a requirement for graduation. Our departments provide support for our students to find internship places. Our students can also benefit from international experience through ERASMUS programs with universities that our university collaborates with. In addition, they can benefit from Farabi and Mevlana exchange programs. Our graduates will be competent and productive individuals in their fields, with developed artistic personalities thanks to the education they receive. Those who are interested in the arts can work as art consultants or artists in art galleries, as well as work independently as freelance artists. In the field of design, they can find job opportunities as designers in public institutions and organizations or in the private sector. Moreover, they can work independently by providing design and consultancy services. In addition, our students can choose to work as teachers after receiving their teaching certificate, which they can obtain starting from the third semester. I invite you to experience the creative atmosphere created by our faculty, together with our students, which is developing day by day thanks to experienced academic staff, field, sector, and collaborations with other faculties.
