Faculty of Applied Sciences

Hello students, I am Prof. Dr. İsa İPÇİOĞLU. I am the dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University. I graduated from the Department of Business Administration of Karadeniz Technical University in 1992. In 1993, I started working as a research assistant in the Department of Business Administration at Süleyman Demirel University. Later, I won a scholarship exam by the Ministry of National Education and completed my MBA program at Fairleigh Dickinson University in the United States. Then, I completed my doctoral program in 2004. In 2005, I started working as an assistant professor in the Department of Business Administration at Dumlupınar University. Later, in 2010, I became an associate professor, and in 2015, I became a professor. Currently, I am serving as the dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University. Our faculty was established as the School of Applied Sciences in 2013 and was converted to a faculty in 2019. Currently, there are four departments: accounting and finance management, banking and finance, tourism management, and tourism guidance. In addition, there are also inactive departments in gastronomy and culinary arts, logistics management, and recreation management. There are a total of 750 students in our faculty. The MBA programs of the accounting and finance management and banking and finance departments continue providing education. The fundamental courses of business administration are taught in the first and second years. These courses include an introduction to business administration, marketing, management and organization, and the basic concepts of accounting. In the third and fourth years, they take courses specific to their department. We design our courses to respond to changing market conditions and technology. In addition, our courses are updated to be current by taking the views of our internal and external stakeholders. We have one computer laboratory in our faculty. The capacity of our laboratories is 40 people. In addition, we have two practice rooms. Our practice rooms are allocated for the housekeeping and food and beverage courses. In 2023, with the support of business investment, a finance laboratory will be constructed for our faculty. Our students start their internships from the second year. The internships in the tourism department last for 60 days, while in other departments they are 40. Our students carry out these internships during the summer months. Additionally, in our 8th semester, we have our graduation project. Our students benefit from the ERASMUS programs in European countries through agreements made by our university. Last year, we organized a program under the name "Bozüyük Higher Education's Future". This year, we conducted the "Accounting Case Study Workshop" program in collaboration with Istanbul University. Also, we hold our Science Advisory Board meetings twice a year, where we try to come up with various solutions by taking into account the opinions of our external stakeholders about our faculty. Our students can find job opportunities both in the private and public sectors. There are many job opportunities in tourism businesses and financial institutions. Consulting professors provide support to students who have difficulty in their courses. Also, academic Turkish language support is provided to our international students. Our faculty members are both experts in their field and dedicated teachers. Additionally, the tourism and finance sectors have become the most important sectors. I recommend our students to choose the departments of our faculty. Our university offers part-time work and scholarship opportunities. We have sports facilities and activity areas in our university. Our students also have the opportunity to work part-time. In addition, scholarships are also provided to our students. Besides, in terms of location, our university is easily accessible. Also, due to the presence of many industrial institutions in Bilecik province, the employment rate of our graduates are quite high. Therefore, I recommend them to choose our university. I wish success to the students who will take the university entrance exam. I hope students will choose our university and our faculty.
