Hello, dear students. I am Prof. Dr. Mustafa Koyun. I am currently serving as the founding dean of the Faculty of Science. I completed my undergraduate and graduate education at Uludağ University. While my areas of expertise are animal systematics, ecology, and parasitology, I serve in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics as the general biology main discipline at our faculty. Our faculty was established with the closure of the Faculty of Science and Literature, which was established in 2008, so we can say that it is a new faculty that started providing education in 2022. Students take the compulsory courses related to their own departments and areas, as well as technical and/or professional elective courses related to their departments. In addition, they can take elective courses from other fields or faculties in the elective courses group from different disciplines. Students are required to complete 240 ECTS credits for graduation. Thus, by choosing elective courses outside their field of study, they can complete this graduation requirement by a rate of about 25%. In the common laboratory building where our faculty is currently providing education, there are active laboratories of two of our departments. While the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics has one student laboratory and four research laboratories, there is one student laboratory and two research laboratories in this department. These laboratories are where many projects are completed and conducted as a part of our university's Scientific Research Projects (BAP) projects, TÜBİTAK() Projects, and European Union Projects. Students conduct their graduation projects in these laboratories, too. We have compulsory internship courses in two departments of our faculty, in the departments of molecular biology and genetics and chemistry. Our students are entitled to take these internship courses from the fourth semester onwards. However, we recommend that they do these internships in the sixth and later semesters. They have the opportunity to do these internships in different units of our city, factories, and different institutions, even abroad. Our students complete their internships with the condition that this compulsory internship period does not exceed 30 days. In fact, a total of 662 of our students have benefited from these internships so far, both in the Department of Molecular Biology and Chemistry. ERASMUS and Mevlana student exchange programs allow our students to continue their education at foreign universities for one or two semesters. In ERASMUS student exchange programs, our students can undertake education in European Union countries for one or two semesters. Among these countries, there are 133 bilateral agreements between us and countries such as Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania. Students complete their studies for one or two terms in these universities. Similarly, there is not much difference between the Mevlana student exchange program, which is a similar overseas exchange program to the ERASMUS program, but mobility continues within the framework of exchange programs without any geographical distinction. Our students can participate in Mevlana exchange programs in countries such as Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Palestine, Georgia, India. We have a total of 39 agreements in these countries as well.

We invite lecturers from universities in neighboring cities to provide seminars or similar events in their areas of expertise, such as molecular biology, genetic chemistry, and physics, which are particularly known as the applied branches of our faculty, for the benefit of our students. Almost all of our graduates from active departments can find job opportunities in a wide range of fields once they have graduated. Mathematics graduates can become research academics, take elective courses in software to improve their knowledge and skills, and take on roles in those fields. They can also become teachers by taking pedagogical formation courses. Graduates of our molecular biology and genetics department can find jobs in biotechnology companies, medical firms, agriculture, food, industry, environment, and natural habitat protection-related units, especially. Graduates of our statistics and computer science department can work as statisticians, data specialists, software developers, production planners, quality specialists, and in other related positions in relevant institutions and organizations. We can say that the range of job opportunities for our statistics graduates is broader than our other departments. We can also say that all of our graduates have a wide range of job opportunities in the social field. I don't think our students will have any difficulties in any of our faculty departments because our faculty is a science and mathematics-based faculty, and I believe that they can successfully complete all the courses here if they put in the effort, along with the foundation they bring from high school. We help them whenever they face difficulties. Dear students, first of all, Bilecik, where our university is located, is situated in a region between major cities, with transportation options available by land, rail, and air. Yenisehir Airport, which is 30 minutes away from Bilecik, is a great advantage. We can also say that the high-speed and normal train lines passing through Bilecik are a great advantage. Similarly, bus companies coming from the Central Anatolia and Mediterranean regions have to pass through Bilecik, making it very easy to travel to Istanbul, Sakarya, or other cities from here, or to come to Bilecik from Anatolia or the Mediterranean region. Secondly, besides the state dormitory affiliated with the Credit and Dormitories Institution in Bilecik, numerous private dormitories and apartments at reasonable prices are available to our students. Additionally, we offer health services, social, cultural, and sports activities, a library, laboratory, and computer services, international student exchange programs, and double major and minor programs, which we believe are important for our students who come from outside the province. Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University is a proper university established in Bilecik. It has many advantages due to its location. Especially, its transportation network provides fast transportation to every part of Turkey. In addition, Bilecik, which Is a student-friendly city, is historically important. The infrastructure, equipment, technical facilities, library, social and sports facilities that develop our university offer students very important opportunities. Finally, we are happy to invite students who want to receive education from our university and faculty.
