Hello, I am Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı İŞCAN. I am the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University. Our faculty was established in 1992 and is one of the oldest of our current university. Our faculty continues education with 5 departments. We have the Department of Economics, the Department of Business Administration, the Department of Finance, the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, and the Department of Management Information Systems. In addition, the Department of International Relations is currently officially within the structure of our faculty, but the necessary correspondence and official procedures regarding student admissions continue. We make different groupings for our courses. The academic council decisions for the department are important for determining these courses. Academic council decisions are important for this department. Our courses in this department are determined by the academic council. The groups consist of compulsory courses that we believe are necessary for each of our students to take in each department, and another group is our elective courses. Elective courses are courses prepared and determined by the academic councils for the purpose of increasing the cultural, educational knowledge levels of our students from different disciplines under one group. The elective courses are the courses from other faculties. Here, our students try to increase their own cultural, knowledge, and education levels by taking courses opened by different departments, different faculties, and different scientific fields. We have lecture halls, computer laboratories, and a library in our faculty. At the same time, we have a very extensive database library within the campus area of our university. Faculty students have optional internship opportunities. Although this may be within a business that is in line with our students' wishes, our students also make these applications within the framework of the internship mobilization initiated by our Presidency. Our students benefit from education and training services under the ERASMUS agreement that our university has made with universities abroad. We send our own students to universities within the framework of the agreements made by our university with universities abroad, and at the same time, students from different countries and nations come to our faculty from those universities. Our faculty participates in national and international organizations, such as TEKNOFEST. Students and faculty members of our faculty make great efforts to participate in international and national organizations.
Our faculty students have many advantages and diverse employment opportunities compared to many other departments. Each department in our faculty has different employment opportunities, but generally speaking, for Group A professions, you’ve got positions like inspectorate and specialist assistantship, inspectorate assistantship, and specialist assistantship, while for Group B professions, our faculty students can apply to many other positions. The departments under the Faculty of Administrative Sciences have the highest number of graduates in Turkish higher education. Almost 70% of all graduating students are our students who graduated from the departments under the Faculty of Administrative Sciences. All students need to obtain the necessary qualities. Evaluation surveys are conducted for each course by our students at the end of each semester. Based on these evaluation surveys, each department and each instructor can revise the content of the course, the materials used in the course, and the method of the course, thanks to the feedback they receive from the students. This provides significant advantages to our students. Also, our students can receive counseling services on the days specified in each academic calendar. Thanks to these counseling services, our students can receive advice from their advisors in order to progress academically. They can learn which academic route to take. I would like to provide information about the geography of Bilecik to the candidates who will choose our faculty. Bilecik's geography has geopolitical importance and is close to many provinces and even large cities such as Istanbul, Bursa, Izmir, and Eskisehir. Nowadays, with the developing transportation facilities, transportation to and from our faculty from these regions has become quite easy. At the same time, our university can provide significant advantages in terms of the campus area. We have a wide campus area that provides students with a vast library area, a broad computer usage area, canteen services, and social facilities. Within our faculty, we have an academic staff with a 30-year history, supporting education and training. Students of the faculty can benefit from the experience and knowledge of this academic staff, optimizing their academic future and employment opportunities after graduation.
