Labor Economics and Industrial Relations

Hello, my name is Şeydanur Kalenderoğlu. I am a 4th year student at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations. Our department is located in the Taşlıçiftlik Campus. The main purpose of the Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations is to train experienced employees for this field. In our department, courses such as Unionism, Labor Sociology, Individual Labor Law, and Collective Labor Law are provided. We also take elective courses to improve our skills. There are computer laboratories in our faculty where we can easily conduct our lessons. We can undertake optional internships in our department. We have the opportunity to work part-time in the different departments of our university. When we graduate, we can work in human resources management in the public and private sectors, in worker, employer and civil servant unions, and in different divisions of cooperatives. The Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations is focused on many fields. Wherever there are people, there is a labor economy. I chose this department because I thought I could improve my skills in this field. The social facilities of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, the academic competency of the professors and the fact that our university has a good international ranking constituted a big factor in my choice. After graduation, I plan to improve myself academically by scoring enough points from ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam) and YDS (Foreign Language Proficiency Exam) exams. I would recommend candidates who want to study economic and social issues to choose our department. In addition, I recommend the candidates who will choose our university to become members of social clubs and have an active university life. I wish everyone success in their exam.
