Faculty of Pharmacy

Hello, I am Beyza Nur Aktalay, a 3rd year student at Inonu University Faculty of Pharmacy. I'm 21 years old and I'm from Elazig. Inonu University Faculty of Pharmacy was founded in 2002 and gave its first graduates in 2006. In 2014, it moved to its own modern building and continues to provide 5 years of undergraduate education with its competent academic staff. Our faculty provides a detailed training covering the entire training process from recognizing the plant to its production and reaching the patient. If we need to collect the courses in the 5-year curriculum of our faculty in three main headings, we can summarize them as Basic Pharmacy Sciences, Pharmaceutical Professional Sciences and Pharmacy Technology Science. We see courses such as Medicine, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Anatomy in Basic Pharmacy Sciences courses. We also take chemistry-oriented courses such as Analytical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. In the pharmacy professional sciences, we take courses such as Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Toxicology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacognosia, which are more relevant to our profession. In the Science of Pharmacy Technology, we take courses such as Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Radiopharmaceuticals. In our faculty, we have R&D (research and development) laboratories, special student laboratories for each department, where students can carry out joint projects with our teachers, and central laboratories that are open to everyone. In addition, workshops such as medical and aromatic plants garden, application pharmacy and majistral workshop increase our professional competence and enable us to learn the practical part of pharmacy better. In our faculty, we have the opportunity to do internships in pharmacies, hospital and the industry during the summer periods of the 2nd and 3rd years and on certain days of the week during the 5th year. In addition, we carry out graduation projects with the help of our professors in the subject that we have an interest in with the Principles of Scientific Study in Pharmacy course that we take in the 5th year. After 5 years of competent faculty education, we can work in many fields in the public and private sectors. In the public, depending on the appointments of the Ministry of Health, we can work as pharmacists in institutions such as TİTCK (Turkish Medicines and Medical Device Authority) and SSI (Social Security Institution) in hospitals. In the private sector, we can work as a freelance pharmacist. In addition, we can work in R&D and marketing departments in pharmaceutical companies. After graduating, we can become a clinical pharmacist after passing a specialty exam in pharmacy.
Ever since I was a little girl I had a predisposition to science and a desire to work in the field of health. This led me to the profession of pharmacy, which is the closest to health consultancy. When I was making a decision on which department I wanted to study in, both training in many different fields and intensive hands-on training were very effective in my choice. I'm already excited to be nominated for one of the most respected and oldest professions in the world. One of the most important factors in my choice of Inonu University is that it has a large and green campus. In fact, with this feature, our university has risen to 340th place in the world. In addition, the dormitory and home facilities in and around our campus meet our housing needs. I am staying at KYK (State Credit and Dormitories Institution) dormitory, which is a 3-minute walk from our faculty. In addition, we have suitable and quality food facilities in our faculty and surrounding areas. In addition, the walking and cycling paths on our campus, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts and various tournaments provide us with a good time. All kinds of social opportunities were instrumental in my choice of Inonu University Faculty of Pharmacy. I want to be an industrial pharmacist after I graduate. Laboratory competence and R&D (Research and Development) enthusiasm required for industrial pharmacy are among the most important things that my faculty has provided me. As Inonu University Faculty of Pharmacy, we benefit from having a very well-equipped building. There are various student communities in our faculty according to our own interests. We have a band that we started ourselves. I'm the violinist in this band. We also have various and active student commissions such as the Youth Commission of the Turkish Pharmacists Association and the Youth Commission of the Malatya Chamber of Pharmacists. These allow us to communicate with students in other faculties and organize conferences and trainings. Our faculty embraces us all with its competent and sincere staff. I'm so happy to be here.
