Faculty of Nursing

I'm Hatice Karpuz. I am a 4th grade intern nurse at Inonu University Faculty of Nursing. Our faculty first started education in the 1997-98 academic year under the name of Malatya Health School. On 27th of August 2015, it was converted into the Faculty of Health Sciences and continued to give education in this body. On August 17, 2017, the Faculty of Nursing was established after the Decision of the Council of Ministers published in the official newspaper. The aim of our faculty is to improve the quality of human life and health care and to train nurses who have gained professional knowledge and skills at the highest level. In our faculty, basic medical courses are given in the 1st grade, as well as Nursing Principles, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Public Health and Intern education. Elective courses are also offered. There are skill laboratories and 2 adult simulation rooms and children's simulation rooms in our faculty. Simulations S1001 are fully equipped patient care simulators. In these simulation rooms, all kinds of scenarios prepared by the departments can be simulated. After simulation applications, students are given feedback in the briefing room. We are receiving theoretical and practical training in our faculty. Applications are started in the 1st year from the Course of Nursing Principles. We go to Turgut Özal Medical Center. Our faculty has an intern education program for senior students. In intern education, our students can improve their knowledge and skills to the highest level. After graduation, we can work as school health nurse in the field of education and occupational health nurse in places such as public or private hospitals, Red Crescent, prisons, nursing homes, and rehabilitation centers. I chose the Department of Nursing because it is a professional group that can accompany the whole journey of life, from birth to death. I chose Inonu University because it is based on science at national and international level and offers education in the light of technological developments. At the same time, I chose Inonu University because the education and research hospital in the region provided highly successful educational practice. After graduating, I want to pursue a master's degree in the field where I want to gain clinical experience. I would like to specialize and pursue an academic career in that field. I would like to say to the candidates who will prefer our university and department that they will receive a very good practical education in addition to a good theoretical education and I recommend that they benefit from social life activities on campus. At the same time, I recommend that they benefit from the social activities and campus facilities of our university. It’s a privilege to be a part of İnönü University.
