Primary Mathematics Teaching

I'm Ece Özgün. I am studying at Inonu University Department of Primary Mathematics Teaching. The Department of Primary Mathematics Teaching aims to give its students the basic, skills, knowledge and habits that a teacher should have. In addition, it aims to train teachers who are well-known, capable of problem solving and confident in technology. In our department, courses are given in three main topics: general culture, field knowledge and professional knowledge. Your field knowledge courses are algebra, algebra teaching, teaching numbers, analysis, analytical geometry. Among our vocational knowledge courses, you have courses such as Educational Psychology, Measurement and Evaluation, Classroom Management. Our general culture courses are generally elective. These are the ones that are going to go into Science and Research and Ethics courses such as Museum Education. In our department, we have 1 computer laboratory, 1 smart classroom and a classroom designed for field courses. Before graduating from our department, internship training is given for 2 semesters in a public school affiliated to the Ministry of National Education (MEB). During this internship period, one-to-one interactions are made with students and in the classroom environment. Thus, we can get to know the students well in the classroom environment. During the internship, we can take classes and teach the students. After graduating from this department, we have the opportunity to teach primary mathematics in private and public schools affiliated with MEB. In addition, when the necessary conditions are met, there is the possibility to study for master's and doctorate degrees and progress in the academic field. Primary Mathematics Teaching provides ease of work after graduation. I loved math, and I chose this part because I thought I could teach it. I knew Inonu University was an advanced university. When I researched the academic staff during the preference period, I learned that it has an advanced academic staff. It also had a large campus. When I put them together, I decided to choose Inonu University. After graduating from this department, I plan to teach at a public school affiliated with MEB and I intend to study for a master's degree in self-development. Inonu University, with its large and green campus and various social activities, allows students to have a beautiful university life and offers a good education to students with its advanced academic staff. Therefore, I recommend Inonu University to students who would prefer this department. It’s a privilege to be a part of İnönü University. We're waiting for all of you.
