Civil Engineering

Hello, I'm Ibrahim Hanbay. I am a 4th year student at İnönü University Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering. Our department aims to train engineers equipped with the basic knowledge of civil engineering, who research, question, who can produce solutions to the problems they face, who are open to communication, who can do teamwork, who have management skills and who can work in national and international projects. In this context, our department was founded in 2009 and have been accepting students since 2010. The courses you have taken in general in our department are basic courses such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and department courses such as Static, hydroloii, Highway Materials Science. In addition, we take computer-aided courses such as Autocad, Sta4cad, Matlab. Geotechnical, transportation, mechanical, hydraulic and building materials laboratories are available in our department and we experience the practical aspects of the theoretical knowledge we have acquired in the courses. In our department, a total of 60 working days of internship program are applied, 30 working days as we move from 2nd to 3rd grade and another 30 working days before 4th grade. Thanks to this internship program, we experience the knowledge we have acquired in the courses in the field. After graduating from our department, we have the opportunity to work on many projects such as bridges, airports, dams, living spaces. The reason I prefer the Department of Civil Engineering is to be able to work in national and international projects with the professional knowledge I have acquired by developing myself academically. The reason I prefer Inonu University is that our professors attach great importance to academic achievements, campus opportunities, national and international image of our university, and R&D (Research and Development) studies with Teknopark. In addition, the integration between our university and the private sector was instrumental in my preference. My later goals include continuing my civil engineering career academically or taking part in major national and international projects. My advice to students who will prefer our department and university that they should benefit from the academic staff and laboratory facilities of our department. They should also participate in social activities on our green campus. It’s a privilege to be a part of İnönü University. We invite you to experience this privilege.
