Faculty of Medicine
Hello, I am a 6th year student and an intern Dr. Burkay Fırat Çoraplı at İnönü University, Medical Faculty. Our Faculty of Medicine was founded in 1988 and continues to educate physician candidates and is a faculty that has survived to this day. I can explain the courses given in general in our faculty in two stages. In 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades, we develop the theoretical knowledge we receive through practical trainings in our laboratories and vocational skills practice places as a complement to our theoretical courses, with the weight of theoretical courses in the classroom. At the same time, we complete the pre-clinical phase with our professional practical trainings. When we move to the 4th and 5th grades, we are scattered throughout the clinical departments, learning how to approach the patients of those departments, how to treat their diseases and how to get anamnesis. When we reach the pre-medicine stage, we are distributed to outpatient clinics and services and as a result of the trainings we receive, we learn the approach to diseases and how to treat them completely. We have microbiology, anatomy, histology and professional skills practice halls in our faculty. In these professional skills application halls, we make preliminary preparations for the procedures we will perform in the pre-clinical stage and receive trainings on simulated (fictional) patients. In the anatomy laboratories in our faculty, we can receive live trainings in 3D through models. In histology laboratories, we conduct examinations on selected samples and tissues from microscopes. In our professional skills practice halls, we complete our trainings without touching the patients before moving to the clinic, by taking models and simulated patients. After graduating from our department, we start working in appropriate public health centers or emergency peripherals with the choices we will make as general practitioners. Our students who have successfully completed the Medical Specialization Exam (TUS) are trained until they start their duties as Assistant Physicians and finish these residency processes. After the process is over, they have the title of specialist physician. If they want to progress in a more specific field in their departments, they take the minor exams and continue their duties as minor specialists. The most important reason for me to choose Medical Faculty is the importance of human health. It's more than just a profession. The most important reason why I prefer Inonu University is that this is the most advanced and equipped hospital in its region. Having so many patients coming here from the periphery and being able to treat them was one of the main reasons I chose this place. Both the diversity of patients and the training staff were the biggest reasons for my choice. My goal after graduation is to get the score I want in TUS and specialize in a surgical branch. Candidates who will prefer or are thinking of choosing this place, if you can practice medicine in all conditions when you graduate, if you want to perform this profession properly, please choose this place. Inonu University Faculty of Medicine consists of a competent, well-equipped and a dedicated academic staff. If you want to be part of this team, we will welcome you to Inonu University Faculty of Medicine. It’s a privilege to be a part of İnönü University.
