Department of Health, Culture and Sports
Hello, I am Lecturer Burak İşmen. I am the Deputy Secretary General of Trakya University. At the same time, I continue to act as the Deputy of the Department of Health, Culture and Sports. We are now in the heart of Trakya University. This is the Department of Health, Culture and Sports. We have five branches here and we have five directorates. One of these five directorates is our social facilities, and in the directorates that manage these social facilities, our hotels, guesthouses, summer camp sites, restaurants and canteens are operated. The most suitable atmosphere for you, the esteemed young people, is managed here and at the same time, you can be provided with jobs here. By employing students, income can be provided to students here. One of our other branches is the Culture Branch. It is one of the most valued units of the department by young people, academics and administrators. We have about 98 communities where students can realize their ideals in the future and develop themselves in art, sports and similar subjects by using the resources of the university. In our communities in the Culture Branch, our students carry out activities where they can develop their innovative ideas in diving activities, mountain climbing and sportive activities, artistic activities, musicals, shows, exhibitions and their own education. Another branch of ours the Sports Branch. Except for the Balkan Campus, which is our main campus, all our sports facilities and all our indoor and outdoor fields are managed from this unit. Our students can continue their sportive activities in our recreational areas and ensure their own physical development. Our Nutrition Branch, which provides the nutrition we most need, has the capacity to produce nine hundred thousand dishes per year with its five dining halls. It has production areas with a transparent perspective where our students can see what they eat, visit and tour whenever they want. We think that you, our esteemed students, will be very happy in the new recreation areas on the Balkan Campus, that is, our main campus. We think that you can have a great time on our bicycle paths, open-air classrooms and beautiful open-air gardens that we have created.
One of the other duties of the Department of Health, Culture and Sports is to provide entertainment areas for students. In these entertainment areas, various conferences, congresses or concerts can be held at the beginning and end of a semester. At these concerts, we do our best to create an atmosphere where our students can have fun and feel happy when they finish an academic year. Together with our students, we attach importance to organizing symposiums with anyone who wants to operate in the Department of Health, Culture and Sports, whether they have a community or not. We know that the academicians or scientists of the future will consist of young people who can organize these symposiums today. Together with the Health, Culture and Sports Department, their faculties and vocational schools, these young people can easily organize symposiums in the scientific fields they have chosen, make their voices heard in national or international platforms, and exhibit their work to anyone. We also have support in this regard. In addition, 98 of our student societies, established in our Health, Culture and Sports Department, carry out sportive, cultural and scientific activities within the Trakya University by using the resources of our university. For example, our diving community can study with their instructors and examine the underwater fauna inside or outside of our region, while at the same time doing underwater cleaning to protect the environment. Students joining the Department of Health, Culture and Sports will have a huge family to welcome them here. Students interested in dance can enroll themselves in the dance society; students who want to do sports activities such as judo, taekwondo, mountain climbing can do so as part of our sports communities; students who want to do scientific research can enter the scientific research societies. They will establish a new life for themselves in our university. My advice to new students is to not waste any time learning about our community meet days and to just join us. We know that the Department of Health, Culture and Sports is the heart of our university. We look forward to meeting our new friends. Good luck in your exams!
