Faculty of Pharmacy

Hello, I'm Hilal Sancar. I graduated from Trakya University Faculty of Pharmacy in 2018. Likewise, I am doing my master's degree at Trakya University Faculty of Pharmacy, Basic Pharmacy Sciences program. As of 2019, I have been working as a Research Assistant at Trakya University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Biochemistry. Our faculty was established in 2011 and accepted its first students between 2013-2014. Our faculty, which gave its first graduates in 2018, is located in the Balkan Campus of Trakya University. Balkan Campus is the biggest campus of our university. Based on technology and science, our faculty aims to train pharmacists who have active duties and responsibilities in both the areas of drug production and consumption. Education period in our faculty is for 5 years and we have courses such as Basic Pharmacy Sciences, Pharmacy Vocational Sciences, and Pharmacy Technologies within our faculty. Our laboratory courses start from the first year and along with these courses, we have courses specific to the pharmacy profession such as Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Technology, and Pharmacognosy. There are 9 student laboratories and 12 research laboratories in our faculty. Our students take their courses in these student laboratories since their first year. Our compulsory internships in our faculty start from the 2nd grade. Our compulsory internships can be carried out in community pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry and other public institutions and organizations. Students have been preparing a graduation project under the supervision of our professors recently. We are going through a final period that prepares us for business and academic life. Starting from the second year of our faculty onwards, our students can benefit from the Erasmus exchange program in institutions and organizations which our faculty has agreements with. Our students can continue their education life in Europe and the Balkans with the opportunity of Erasmus program. As the Faculty of Pharmacy, we have been organizing Bekon Pharmacy Congress since 2018. With this congress, experts from the field share their experiences and knowledge with our students. Our students can open a pharmacy or work in pharmacies when they are assistant pharmacist for 1 year within the framework of the law after graduation. In addition, they can continue to work in hospitals, pharmaceutical warehouses, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries after graduation. Trakya University is a well-established university. There are many social activities in our university and our student clubs work very actively. In addition, our school offers us a lot of opportunities specific to our department. I wish our students success in their exams. I welcome students who want to pursue this profession with passion to our faculty.
