International University
Hello, I am Kadir Ismaili. I am a 3rd year student at Trakya University Computer Engineering Department. I came to Turkey 2 years ago from North Macedonia. I studied my first year in Skopje, North Macedonia. However, I chose Trakya University because I did not like the level of education, and I thought that Turkey is in a higher place in the world education ranking. Before I came to Trakya University, I did some research on the internet and saw that Trakya University has a very good place in world rankings. Frankly, that did frigthen me a bit. But when I came here, I saw that the quality of education is really good. Of course, every good thing has its difficulties, and my department also had its difficulties. But I overcame them with the help of the instructors, a good circle of friends and hard work. After studying in North Macedonia for a year, I came to Trakya University with a horizontal transfer. As it is known, Trakya University has many student societies. I took active roles in many societies such as the Debate Society, Paired Dances Society, and the Technology Society, and these contributed a lot to me. We encountered many problems in Edirne, as elsewhere. But thanks to the university officials, they helped us in every field. For example, they were with us at the border gates and immigration administration, assisting us on every turn. I am very satisfied with the academic work and the education level of our university. I should especially mention that the technologies and various laboratories offered by the department of computer engineering are more than necessary. In other words, it offers us advanced technologies. Over the years I've spent here, I've learned to take care of myself. I attended the Thesis Preparation Workshop, Personal Development and Psychological Development Workshop, Technology Workshop and the career fair organized by our university. I visited many cities in Turkey. I visited many cities in Turkey, from Şanlıurfa and Gaziantep to Ankara and Istanbul. But I have not seen any city as suitable for students as Edirne. There are many places to visit in Edirne and we do not feel like strangers because our history unites us. We are not alienated by local people or international students. I have only one piece of advice for international students coming here: The sooner you arrive, the better. After graduation, I plan to pursue a master's degree, but I plan to do it in Europe, not in Turkey. After graduation, I will continue with my master's degree and return home to work in the Technopark that Trakya University established in Kosovo. I might also go on to work in Macedonia, where Trakya University has taken the first steps towards establishing its Technopark. All international students are welcome in Trakya University. I wish you success in your education life.
