Banking and Insurance

Hello, I am Associate Professor Volkan Dayan. Since 2013, I have been working as a lecturer at Trakya University’s Uzunköprü School of Applied Sciences, Department of Banking and Insurance. Our department was established in 2013. Our main goal is to train qualified personnel for the financial sector. The courses given in our department are finance courses in the field of banking and insurance. In addition, courses in accounting, marketing, management and human resources are also available. Our department has computer labs and classrooms with smart boards. Our compulsory internship is 40 days long and takes place in the summer of 3rd year. Students are expected to do their internships in the fields of banking and insurance. Students of our department have been participating in the Izmir International Economics Students Congress for many years where they have made many successful presentations. Our graduates can work in any company in the field of banking and insurance. In addition, graduates can easily find employment in institutions that deal with factoring, forfaiting and leasing, as well as intermediary institutions and stock exchanges. It is very important for the candidates choosing our department to be constantly improving themselves. In particular, the subject of information technologies and language skills is especially important for employers. The Credit and Dormitories Institution female dormitory is 10 minutes away from our school. Apart from this, we are working together with the Banks Association of Turkey. In addition, since I am a consultant on young entrepreneurship of Uzunköprü Chamber of Commerce and Industry, our students are offered training opportunities. Our students visit Uzunköprü Commodity Exchange periodically. Two very valuable communities within our school are doing very good work.
