Dental Prosthetics

Hello, I'm Fahreddin Benli. I am a 2nd year student at the University of Health Sciences, Dental Prosthesis Technology Program. Dental Prosthesis Technology is an associate degree program. The aim of the program is to teach information technologies and to prepare students for the sector who can produce dentures and their derivatives. We are located in the Gülhane Complex, in the Vocational School of Health. In our program, there are main courses such as Fixed Prostheses, Removable Prostheses, Porcelain Prostheses, Implant Prostheses. There are also courses where you can socialize and gain versatile knowledge. We have a multifunctional laboratory, which consists of sections such as plaster room, application room, casting room, where we can work with all kinds of devices and learn about work flow problems that we may encounter after graduation, accompanied by our instructors. We have summer internships at the end of the 1st year, covering 20 working days. We can undertake internships in dental prosthesis laboratories of public hospitals, private laboratories and private clinics. If you are a University of Health Sciences student, you can do your internship at Gülhane Training and Research Hospital. After graduation, we can work as sales consultants in dental prosthesis laboratories of public hospitals, private laboratories, private clinics and dental warehouses. I chose this program because I am a person who is curious about health, has high aesthetic concerns and dexterity, and also because of the possibilities of employment of dental prosthesis technicians. As a result of the suggestions I received during the selection period, I researched. I talked with the students who graduated from our school. I learned that the instructors of our school are experienced in their field and that our school's laboratory is equipped with everything we need. Since our program is a health-related department and is the first and only medical-focused university of our country, the University of Health Sciences, I thought I would get a good education. That's why I chose the University of Health Sciences. After graduation, I want to work in the private sector for a while in order to improve my skills, gain experience and get involved in the sector. Later on, I want to have a well-equipped laboratory of my own. I would advise students who will choose our program not to miss our practice courses. Practice courses will enable you to start working with experience. Our school is a very active university in terms of events and clubs.
