Anaesthesia

Hello, I am Nazlı Küçükfirat, a 1st year student at the University of Health Sciences, Gülhane Vocational School of Health, Anesthesia Program. The purpose of the Anesthesia Program is to train anesthesia technicians who are great with people, well aware of ethical principles, respectful to themselves and their environment, who have gained competence in their profession, and who have adopted a scientific way of thinking, improving their skills whenever possible. Our program is located in the Gülhane Campus and the education program lasts for 2 years. In our program, Anatomy and Physiology, System Diseases, Medical Terminology, Anesthesiology and Reanimation, Anesthetic Pharmacology, Anesthesia Medical Devices and Equipment, ECG (Electrocardiography) Analysis and Resuscitation and applied courses are provided. In our program, we continue receiving education until the fall semester of the 1st year, and take applied and theoretical courses in the spring semester. In the Professional Applications Laboratory, we have all kinds of models for basic anesthesia types and first and emergency aid. In addition, we have a lot of time to practice with these models. After practicing on models, we continue our practical training in hospitals. In our program, we undertake a summer internship, which is 20 working days in total, in the summer term of the 1st year. Students who graduate from this program can work as anesthesia technicians in private or public health institutions. If they wish, they can take the DGS (Vertical Transfer Exam) and receive undergraduate education in line with the criteria determined by the Council of Higher Education. I chose this program because I was curious about the operating room environments, medical procedures, health personnel and patient relations in hospitals. I chose this university because the University of Health Sciences offers more practice opportunities than other universities. After graduating from this program, I want to work as a disciplined, careful and meticulous anesthesia technician in private or public hospitals. Students who will choose this program should be interested in science courses, especially Biology, and if they want to gain speed in practice, they should choose the University of Health Sciences. Since human life and health are at stake, we pay attention to fine details at an intense pace, and we attach importance to patient comfort and safety.
