Labour Economics And Industrial Relations

My name is Fatma Yörümez. I am a 4th year student of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations at Pamukkale University. The Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations is a very rich department that includes many disciplines that adopt the principle of decent work together with labor law and similar practices. It firmly teaches that people are not a commodity in the production phase. It has basic elements such as occupational health and safety, unionism, and unemployment. Our department is located in Kınıklı campus. Some of the main courses given in the department are social policy, labor relations, labor law, labor economics, and labor relations. There are computer labs and libraries in our faculty. We have permission to use the laboratories together with the lecturer. Students who want to do their optional internship in our faculty are offered opportunities through the internship unit, career center and our teaching staff. Upon graduation students can work in the public sector as inspectors, labor specialists, union specialists, and labor market specialists in the ministry of social security. If they wish to have a career in the private sector, they can work as auditors and senior managers in the fields of human resources, sustainability and social compliance. Since the Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations includes more than one discipline, it provides learning opportunities for more than one field. With the principle of business that suits human dignity, I chose this department in line with my desire and belief to provide a prosperous and reliable work environment for employees who are in the heart of production. I chose Pamukkale University because of the location of our campus and the recognition and success of our teaching staff throughout Turkey. I can say that the teaching staff is one of the things I benefited the most while studying in my department. Our teaching staff consists of highly respected individuals who are experts in their fields, who always keep their doors open to us and who want to add something to our working life. I can also count our department community, school communities and library as positive aspects of the university. After graduation, I want to specialize in the Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations at the graduate stage and carry out studies in the field of social compliace and sustainability. My advice to the candidates is to do more research and produce and develop sustainable ideas for a decent production. My advice to the candidates who will choose our university is to benefit from the wide and rich knowledge of our teaching staff, as well as benefit from societies, events, seminars and mid-day conferences outside of the classroom.
