Psychological Counseling And Guidance

Hello, my name is Kıymet Mine Uysal. I am a senior student at Pamukkale University, Psychological Counseling and Guidance program. Our department is located in the Kınıklı campus, the central campus of Pamukkale University, within the Faculty of Education Sciences. The purpose of this program is to train Psychological Counselors who are ready to respond to the academic, personal and social needs of individuals. We mainly take courses in the field of psychology and psychological counseling. These courses consist of psychological counseling theories, personality theories, counseling techniques, and psychological tests. In addition to these, we also take educational science courses at the Faculty of Education. For our lessons, we have computer labs, individual counseling rooms and group counseling rooms. When we come to the spring semester of the 3rd year, our first internship starts within the scope of vocational guidance applications courses. In the 4th grade, we do internships in two terms, both the individual counseling practices course and the PDR practices courses at schools. After graduating from the department; We have the opportunity to work as a Psychological Counselor in the schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, Special Education Institutions, the General Directorate of Security, the Ministry of Family and Social Policies, in the Psychological Counseling Centers, as a Pedagogue in the Courthouse, as a Human Resources Specialist in the field of Human Resources, and as an Academician if we decide to pursue an academic career. I chose my department because of my personal characteristics and because it is a profession that I have dreamed of since my childhood. While making comparisons between universities, I was paying close attention to the academic staff of the universities as well as the resumes of the professors. Pamukkale University was the most appealing one. I benefit mostly from our professors. In addition, we do a lot of group assignments and individual assignments in our department. And I actively use the study areas in our campus. I love that they offer us this opportunity. I also attach great importance to community work. The activeness of our university's communities is one of the opportunities I use. My goal after graduation is to contribute to both my own development and the field of science by pursuing a master's degree. The candidates who will prefer our department should like interacting with people, do research and read books frequently, follow innovations and developments, be active throughout their undergraduate life and keep their awareness high. Denizli is a city that contains historical and natural beauties. We welcome you all to Pamukkale University.
