Hello, my name is Halil Tahtabiçen. I am a junior Law student at Pamukkale University. Pamukkale University celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. The Faculty of Law was established in 2018. It is located in the Kınıklı Campus. In the 1st and 2nd grades, we take more theoretical-based courses such as Constitutional Law and Civil Law. In the 3rd and 4th grades, we take more practice-oriented courses such as Civil Procedure Law and Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law. Graduates of the department can find employment opportunities in various fields, especially in the Judiciary Branches. We can work both in the public and private sectors. We can be private attorneys. In the public sector, it is possible to work in different areas such as criminal investigations in the Prosecutor's Office, the Judge's Office or the General Directorate of Security. The majority think that law is based on resolving interpersonal disputes, but it can also provide improvements in a sociological sense. You know, what we call law is not only individualistic, but also social. It enables society and the state to progress in a more peaceful and orderly way. My biggest aim is to contribute to this order. That's why I chose this department. The main factor for me to choose Pamukkale University is that it is in Denizli. It is a much cheaper city compared to other cities. It is ideal for students to live a comfortable university life. Our academic staff is one of the elements that I benefit the most while studying at my faculty. Our academics are people who really care about students. They are people who value us, who give importance not only to classes at school but also to our views on life outside of school. For this reason, I think the aspect that I am happiest and most satisfied with is the academicians of our faculty. After graduating from the faculty, I actually want to practice more than one profession. I would love to be a prosecutor in a certain part of my life. In addition to this, I would like to work at the General Directorate of Security, within the scope of Criminal Investigations, where Law Faculty graduates can also work. My advice to the candidates who will choose the Faculty of Law is that they do a lot of reading on social sciences. This will help them to understand the law better and to evaluate it from different perspectives thanks to the books in the fields of Sociology, Anthropology, and Philosophy.
