Hello, I am Merve Kapar. I am a senior student at Pamukkale University, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Department of International Trade and Logistics. The Department of International Trade and Logistics was initiated in 2014-2015, a year it started to offer a junior college program. The department was established due to the shortage of qualified people in the field international trade and logistics. The department is located in Çivril campus. The courses we take are Logistics, Commerce, Economics, Marketing and various law courses. 30 days internship program was compulsory before 2022. We can be interns in any company that imports and exports, or in companies that make international transportation. According to the new directive of 2022, we receive theoretical training for seven periods, which we call the 7+1 education system, and on duty training for a period of 4 months. One of the biggest reasons for me to choose the department is that it is the most active department in our faculty, and it has more study areas compared to other departments. Denizli is one of our provinces with the highest export potential compared to other provinces. For this reason, I chose this department. While I was studying at the department, I benefited from effective communication, social environment, library and study areas together with the academic staff. Our university and department offers many opportunities after graduation, that is why we have diverse goals. Things like doing a master's degree, working in the private or public sector. Our university offers many opportunities by creating new projects to our students who want to constantly improve themselves. Our academic staff provides information both in national and international level. We take the graduation project course in the last year. The aim of the course is to apply the theoretical knowledge that we have learned in the past three years into a real life situation. After the project topic is chosen, we divide into groups of four and five and carry out our projects. The duration of the course is two semesters and is graded separately at the end of each semester. If the candidates are interested in fields such as International Trade, Logistics, Customs, Export and Import, they can choose this department. Our university improves itself every year.
