Osmaneli Vocational School
Hello, I am Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Fevzi SAVAŞ. I am the director of Osmaneli Vocational School at Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University. Our vocational school started providing education and training in 1994 as a part of Dumlupınar University with four programs: Computerized Accounting program, Electrical program, Welding Technology program, and Sanitary Installation Technology program, enrolling 120 students. With the establishment of Bilecik University in 2007, our vocational school joined Bilecik University. Currently, we have twelve programs at our vocational school: Computerized Accounting program, Foreign Trade program, Electrical Program, Mechanical Program, Health Institution Management regular and evening programs, Occupational Health and Safety regular and evening programs, Medical Documentation program, Tourism Management program, Culinary Arts program, and Home Health Care program. We have 1257 students at our vocational school, and 2950 students have graduated from our school so far. We have 33 academic staff members, eight of whom are faculty members and twenty-five are instructors. Our academic staff is evenly distributed among our programs. Some of our programs provide theoretical education while others provide both theoretical and practical education. The programs that provide both theoretical and practical education are Electrical and Mechanical Programs. Our school has workshops for the Home Health Care program. In addition, the Tourism and Culinary Arts programs have the Nejla Hanım Practice House, which is allocated by the Osmaneli Municipality. We have practical kitchens and areas for the Tourism program students at this house. Our vocational school students take thirty days of industry or service internships during their education and training years. Some of our programs implement the 3+1 education model, including the Culinary Arts, Electrical, and Mechanical Programs. Students in these programs complete their final semesters by doing internships in the industry or service sector. After our students graduate, those who graduate from the technical program are able to work in industrial areas. Those who graduate from the culinary and tourism program find jobs in hotels located in regions popular with tourists. Students who graduate from the health program can find jobs in both public and private hospitals. In addition, our students in the occupational health and safety program can become occupational health and safety experts, class C experts, and after graduating from the program, they can obtain the class C occupational health and safety certificate, which provides them with job opportunities in both the public and private sector. Since industries are moving to our region from major cities I believe its important to choose technical programs. In addition, given that our country is a tourism country, I believe that tourism management and culinary programs should also be preferred for these reasons. I think that our vocational school should be preferred due to its location and its workshop and infrastructure in technical programs. Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University is a newly established university that is located close to major cities, providing an easy commute. Its campus infrastructure is complete, and it is a safe and peaceful city for students. Therefore, I believe that Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University is a university that can be preferred by students. Given its 30 years of academic history, great academic staff, and laboratory and workshop facilities, I believe that our vocational school should be preferred. Students who will choose Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University should gather information about our campus through the internet and our website before making their choices. I also suggest that students who will choose Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University should take advantage of the wide range of facilities and social activities offered on campus. Additionally, I recommend that students who choose Osmaneli Vocational School should benefit from all the social opportunities and the knowledge and experience of their professors. I wish all students who will take the university exam success. We look forward to seeing you at Osmaneli Vocational School.
