Turkish and Foreign Language Practice and Research Center

Hello dear students, I am Halil İbrahim Erol. I am the director of TÖMER (Turkish and Foreign Language Application and Research Center) at the University of Health Sciences. TÖMER at the University of Health Sciences started its activities in 2018 with the aim of teaching the Turkish language, promoting Turkey and Turkish culture, and making applications and researches in the field of language. Our center organizes courses according to the levels determined in the European language portfolio and gives certificates to successful students. Our mission is to prepare students for university life and to provide them with language skills that will help them in their later life and to guide them. Based on the understanding of "good person, right language", we aim to be a center that works to guide and support students who are guests in our country so that they can easily communicate in all areas of society. In our center, besides Turkish, courses in other languages such as German, English, Ottoman Turkish and French are held and certificates are given. We organize various seminars, conferences and training in cooperation with the relevant units of universities in Turkey and abroad. In our center, we plan to develop various materials in the field of language teaching in order to introduce it to the whole world. In addition, we are planning health-themed Turkish lessons and developing teaching materials in this direction. We organize various cultural activities in order for the students studying at our center to adapt to social life. As an example, we organize various historical site trips, museum tours and country promotion days. We guide the students who study and graduate at our center to solve the difficulties they encounter in their social lives. It is a privilege to study at the University of Health Sciences, the world's largest health-themed University. Our university is located in a central and unique location in Üsküdar, one of the historical and beautiful districts of Istanbul, the apple of our country's eye.
