Hello, I am Ahmet Katı, a Faculty Member of the Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Biotechnology and also Deputy Director of Validebağ Research Center. The Institute of Health Sciences is one of the first academic units of our university. The purpose of its establishment is to train international students in the field of health sciences and health industry. In this sense, it has competent faculty members who can manage and use modern technology. There is a total of 58 departments in the fields of basic sciences, together with the Departments of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy in our institute. These are divided into programs as 50 master's and 51 doctorate programs. Thus, we carry out educational activities for our students in a total of 101 programs. The academic programs of our institute are followed by the faculty members of the faculties. Apart from that, interdisciplinary programs are carried out by the faculty members of the institute. In addition, our university carries out all academic activities of 55 training and research hospitals in cooperation with the Ministry of Health. Faculty members in Health Application and Research Centers, that is, training and research hospitals, which we call SUAM, can also carry out educational activities in different programs in their departments. Our institute generally accepts students in accordance with the graduate regulations determined by YÖK (Higher Education Council). However, here, too, there are three different scenarios for graduate students: First, applications to non-thesis programs. In order for a student to apply to non-thesis programs, it is sufficient to have graduated from any undergraduate program and the applicant must have been engaged in a job in the field of application. Doctorate candidates who are preparing for a doctorate program generally apply to master's programs with thesis. In this sense, they have to graduate from an undergraduate program when they apply to the program with thesis. However, this time, language and ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam) scores are also required as application requirements. For our doctoral candidates, it is required to graduate from at least one master's program. Although our graduate programs are in Turkish, we expect advanced English proficiency from our students. Because a foreign language is indispensable in the basis of postgraduate research. In this sense, we recommend that our students apply to the programs with a good language and ALES score. Our graduate programs include physicians from the Faculty of Dentistry, physicians from the Faculty of Medicine, and pharmacists. Apart from these, students who graduated from biology, basic sciences and from different undergraduate programs from different departments such as molecular biology, genetics, and bioengineering can also apply. Thanks to our cooperation with training and research hospitals, these students can easily access graduate programs and continue their education and training activities. Among the studies we have done, as an institute, we have 2 more applications for new departments that are currently in the process of YÖK. One of them is Thoracic Oncology and the other is the Department of Infectious Diseases Epidemiology. Our most important message to candidates is that if they want to gain competence in the field of health, they can easily apply to graduate programs at the Institute of Health Sciences in Turkey's first health themed state university. Our university has the most comprehensive infrastructure and research facilities in Turkey. In this sense, it has adopted the principle of raising qualified graduate students. Finally, follow the academic calendar carefully for our quotas can be filled very quickly. We wish all candidates success in advance and we welcome them to our university.
