Teknopolis Technology Transfer Office

Hello, my name is Orhan Çömlek. I work as a faculty member at the University of Health Sciences and I am the director of the Teknopolis Technology Transfer Office of the Univeristy of Health Sciences. As you know, a Teknopolis establishment project in every province is on the agenda in Turkey, especially with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, and the University of Health Sciences is the world's largest university founded on health. This university also has to adapt to technological developments, to create an ecosystem that will turn its ideas into projects and projects into products in in order to implement new products, new ideas and new systems by its own staff, students and academics who follow and contribute to the technological developments. We provide services both in our Technology Transfer Office and in our Technocity, in order to enable them to become a global business partner and to market the know-how of their products on an international scale. Our Teknopolis, which was established on a 55-decare land within the borders of Pendik district, has the opportunity to grow by buying another 55-decares on the neighboring land, again on the Pendik-Tuzla border. Here, 47 of our companies are actively continuing their R&D activities. We have an incubation center. In this incubation center, we are trying to deploy our students, especially companies that want to do R&D in the medical field, by giving them mentoring support to do the necessary work. We do our best so they can work together, develop joint projects, and carry out integrated projects, especially within the framework of university-industry cooperation. We have a very serious industrialist-mentor relationship. Along with the managers and owners of the companies serving in the industry, especially in the medical sector, we offer both material and moral support to these companies. Again, we both promote national and international R&D project incentives and ensure that people receive these services here. We provide services to the start-ups and companies here with the structures we have created as a result of the projects we have established, such as the Patent Office. Likewise, with the European Union Project Office we have established here, we follow the calls abroad and ensure that both our faculty members and students apply to the calls abroad. This is important to us. As the face of Turkey that opens abroad, we care about European Union projects. In addition, we have some activities in Europe and the United States related to the marketing of the products of our companies serving here in our Teknopolis, increasing their brand values and reaching international markets. In this regard, we will be opening an incubation center in Boston very soon. We will ensure that our companies here also provide services there and work in that ecosystem as well. Of course, although we are open to R&D companies that work in every field with our self-trained and expert personnel, the success of our students, especially those who are studying at the University of Health Sciences, will enable them to bring their ideas to life and stimulate their studies in the medical field.
