Hello, I am Professor Hasan Hüseyin Eker. I am the dean of the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Faculty of Health Sciences in Mogadishu, Somalia. Our faculty started its activities in the 2020-2021 academic year. After 1 year of Turkish preparatory education in our faculty, we continue our academic education. There are Midwifery, Nursing, Emergency and Disaster Management Departments in our faculty. Our faculty is located in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. Our faculty continues education and training in the same field as the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Training and Research Hospital belonging to our Ministry of Health. We conduct our education in our faculty with Somali academicians, Turkish academics and specialist doctors working in our hospital. From time to time, we also receive support from our academics in Turkey online. Our courses are given theoretically and practically in all departments of our faculty. There is one application laboratory in our faculty. Our students from all departments in our faculty benefit from this application laboratory. Especially our students in the Department of Midwifery and Nursing do their internship at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Training and Research Hospital, right next to our school. This is an important opportunity in Somalia. In particular, the internship that they will do at the Education and Research Hospital, which is the most developed in Somalia, and under the supervision of Turkish experts and teachers in our faculty is very important for the development of our students. Since the students of our faculty receive a world-class education, they can easily find a job in all health institutions, both in the public and private sectors, after they graduate. I recommend all candidates to make the right choice by evaluating the physical environments of our faculty, our curriculum, our academic staff, and especially the opportunities at the Training and Research Hospital, which is located right next to us. Before admitting all student candidates to our faculty, we conduct a written exam such as YÖS (Foreign Student Examination). We accept students who are successful at a certain level for an oral interview under the supervision of a commission. Here, too, we accept successful students to the Turkish preparatory program for 1 year. Students who complete B2 level Turkish education in the Turkish preparatory program have the chance to continue their academic education at the end of 1 year.
