Turkish Teaching

Hello, I'm Feyza Keskinkılıç. I am a 4th year student at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, Department of Turkish Language Teaching. I live in Tokat. The Turkish Language Teaching undergraduate program aims to train individuals with field proficiency and professional competence in Turkish education. Another aim is to train teachers who will promote democracy, freedoms, national and spiritual values. Turkish Language Teaching provides education in Gaziosmanpaşa University, Taslıçiftlik Campus, Faculty of Education. The courses given in our department are Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening Education, which are the four basic skills. In addition to this, courses on literature and educational sciences are offered. In the middle floors of our faculty, we have study rooms that are always open to students. Libraries and computers are available in these study rooms. Our internship program is implemented in the 4th grade. We complete our internship by going to schools for observation purposes in the first semester of the 4th grade, and by putting the observation process into practice in the classroom in the second semester. After graduating from the department, we can teach in public and private institutions. In addition, there are employment possibilities in Turkish Teaching Centers (TÖMER) for teaching Turkish to foreigners. On the other hand, we can be editors and writers and work in publishing houses. I chose this department because they have a great academic staff. In addition to this, I want to teach the beautiful qualities of Turkish to everyone. The biggest reason for me to choose Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University is because its location is close to the center. Another factor was the facilities provided within the campus. After graduation, I want to practice this profession wherever our flag flies and I want to teach the beautiful phonetic qualities of Turkish to students. Our campus is quite green, and there are many areas such as cafes and restaurants in the campus. Our university is open to every student who wants to learn and develop their skills.
