Hi, I'm Aziz Mert Ipekci. I am a sixth grade student at Başkent University Medical Faculty. The medical faculty in a simple sense aims to educate doctors that we can trust the future and our future to. At the same time, it aims at raising people who will carry out researches and keep their knowledge. In the first 3 years we are taking lectures from the basic sciences. In the next 3 years we are doing our internships and taking courses from clinical sciences. The lessons we take in the first 3 years are mainly Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Pharmacology. In the 4th 5th and 6th Grades, we focus more on departmental diseases and start to do more practical lessons. For the first three years we are very much in the laboratory. We have clinical skills laboratories, anatomy laboratories, microbiology laboratories and also biochemistry laboratories, and we have sufficient equipment in all these laboratories. Our internship program consists of 3 seasons. We work as an intern doctor for the first 2 years and as an intern doctor the following year. We continue to take lessons for the first two years and our exams continue. But our practical weight is more. In the last year, we are simply working as a doctor at the hospital. And we do not have exams, but of course we have to continue our education. After graduating from medical school, you get the title of general practitioner. Things you can do after that; You can do your specialization in surgical and clinical fields. Or you could be a research assistant, a researcher, and a college teacher. I chose the medical faculty because my family wanted it, but after studying it for a while I really found myself and started to feel like a real doctor myself. So I am very happy with my current choice. After long time studying at state institutions, I wanted to study at a foundation university because I have seen the benefits that foundation universities and foundation schools can offer my life. Başkent University is a university with the most established medical faculties in Turkey. It is a university that adds many things to students from many different directions, whether they are teacher or staff. So I preferred Başkent University. When I was studying at my faculty, the opportunities I had the most to gain were the opportunity to speak to the lecturers on a one-on one basis. Apart from that, I had plenty of opportunities to work with student clubs and this was supported by my school. I also had the opportunity to do research. During the first three years, I had the opportunity to do research in a different subject each year. And again, the school supported us. After graduation I want to work as a general practitioner for 1 year. I can understand the public health problems better. After that I want to do my masters abroad. Again about public health. And then I want to work in Turkey again. Medical education is an education that master-apprentice relationship is very advanced in. So it will be a great advantage for you to choose a university where you can communicate individually with your masters. So I think Başkent University is a good option for you.
