Hi, I'm Faranak Noori. I am a second-year student at the Faculty of Medicine of Yuksek Ihtisas University. I am from Iran. I have been in Turkey for the last 3 years and I live in Ankara. My brother's teacher recommended Yuksek Ihtisas University to me. That is why I enrolled here as I thought it was a good university. Before choosing this university, I carried out research on it. I found out about it being a recognized university in Europe, having its own hospital, the duration of its education and how the educators give their lessons as I am a foreigner. I have no questions in my mind about Yuksek Ihtisas University as a result of my findings. I saw that everything was fine. I applied to private universities in Ankara. I was accepted to Yuksek Ihtisas University’s Faculty of Medicine. I thought a lot about whether I would be accepted. I the time, I had no experience. I called the student affairs. Then, I came here and they gave me lots of support. I was very relieved. When the lessons started at the university, I had a hard time since I did not speak Turkish. Another reason why I did not understand anything at first was because I did not take Biology lessons in high school in Iran. It was difficult for me not to understand both the Biology course and its Turkish language. I felt terrible. I had to study more than the other students and I was very scared. At this stage, our faculty members were very thoughtful towards me and others like me. I improved myself a lot with additional lessons. I think the courses and the resources given by Yuksek Ihtisas University are more comprehensive than other universities. I am very happy with the academic staff. They helped us immensely and recommended good resources and books to us. Thus, I didn’t have any problem with accessing information. My social circle grew immensely after I started university. My friends are similar to me. They focus on their studies just like I do and I can speak to them about our various courses. That is why we spend a lot of our time together and help each other with our problems. This is a wonderful thing for me. There are many student clubs at our university. I am a member of the Turkish Music Club. I have been to many cities in Turkey like Bursa and Sivas. In comparison to other cities, I think Ankara is a great place for a Medical Faculty student to study in as it is quite quiet and has a good social life. Yuksek Ihtisas University is located in the centre of Ankara and it is really easy to get here as a student. The university does not make you feel like a foreigner at all as the faculty members are always there to help us. I have never had any problems. That is why I recommend this university. I think once you see our university, you will be happy to study here. After graduation, I will stay here, and begin my career here because I love Turkey. I would like wish good luck to students who will come to Yuksek Ihtisas University.
