Major of Business
Hello friends, I am Umut Sanem Çitçi. I am a faculty member of the Graduate Education Institute, Department of Business Administration, Management and Organization Program. My area of expertise is Entrepreneurship, Social Networks and Management. We currently have 2 programs in the Graduate Education Institute as the Department of Business Administration. One is a master's program with thesis, and the other is a doctoral program. Of course, we are planning to open new programs in different fields in the future as the Department of Business Administration. However, the students participating in our master's program with thesis first develop a research question about the ecosystem, and then answer this question at an academic level. With the question they have raised and the answer they have provided, they establish a good place for themselves in the sector. In addition, students who want to continue with their academic studies gain a very good scientific background in our master's program before they begin their doctorate. The students of our Business Administration Doctorate Program receive an education where they can conduct theoretical discussions, try to contribute to the theory and at the same time critically evaluate what they see in the practice in the fields of Management - Organization, Accounting - Finance, Production - Marketing and Quantitative Methods. Most of our faculty members who teach in Business Graduate Education Programs have experience abroad. They are not the only ones who benefit from this experience. It also provides our students a great advantage. Our professors use this experience to form business networks and form new agreements for our students. We have agreements with various universities within the scope of Erasmus. We highly recommend that you study at least one semester abroad for both your master's and doctorate degrees. We hold many organizations in our department on both the national and international platforms. This is because we as a university do not believe it is fair to keep knowledge under wraps. What is important is to share it with others, have discussions with other scholars and put it into practice. In fact, these organizations, in a sense, enable us to share the information we have produced with others. That is why İzmir Bakırçay University chooses to host many national and international organizations, and why it encourages its scholars to participate in organizations worldwide. Our faculty members also participate in these activities with the studies they have carried out with their graduate students. For this reason, our faculty members pay special attention to participating in various organizations and to carrying out studies with their students so that the work of our graduate and doctoral students become public.
Graduate programs have a very dynamic structure. Therefore, application requirements may vary from time to time. Therefore, we recommend you to follow our website for the exact details about the requirements. However, I would like to take this opportunity to say that, graduates from the departments under the faculties of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Business Administration, Economics, and Tourism Faculty will of course have a privileged place in the Management Program. We also accept applications from various engineering programs. First of and foremost, we want our graduate and doctoral students to turn their theses into outsourced projects. In other words, this can be a TÜBİTAK Project or a Development Agency Project. The important thing is for our students to prepare project-based theses. As a result, they will also work as scholarship holders which will be another positive addition to their CVs. Another major aim of ours is to increase the number of our Erasmus agreements as much as we can so that more of our students gain international experience. İzmir Bakırçay University is a young university with dynamic staff members. Of course, having young academic staff members means that our student numbers are not very high yet. The main advantage of this is that the teacher-student relationship is more close-knit than expected. This is especially true in postgraduate education. The reason for this is that the teacher-student ratio is much lower in our university in relation to the average of Turkey. Having less students per scholar means that, more time can be set aside per student to guide them not only about their thesis but also the papers that could be written based on their thesis. In this sense, it will be a great advantage for students who are thinking of writing a thesis to study at İzmir Bakırçay University. In addition, considering that the most difficult process of graduate education is the writing of a thesis, receiving such qualified support will be something that all students desire. That is why, we invite you to examine our graduate programs at İzmir Bakırçay University and having made your decision to be our student here.
