Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Greetings, I'm Mervan ADLI, currently a third-year student majoring in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Balıkesir University's Faculty of Engineering. Our department is situated within the Faculty of Engineering on the Çağış Campus. The primary objective of our department is to cultivate entrepreneurial electrical and electronics engineers with a strong grasp of technology. Our comprehensive curriculum encompasses a wide range of courses, including core subjects, as well as various elective options. We cover topics such as introductory electrical and electronics engineering, power systems, control systems, power electronics, microcomputers, and programmable logic controller (PLC) courses.
To enhance our learning experience, we have access to various well-equipped laboratories such as the PLC laboratory, measurement laboratory, electronics laboratory, electrical machinery laboratory, and control laboratory. These labs provide hands-on practical training that complements our theoretical knowledge. Our internship opportunities begin from the second year and span a total of 50 working days.
Regarding graduation projects, during our fourth year, we undertake projects under the guidance of our chosen professors, working on them over the course of two semesters. Upon graduation, our department opens up numerous career prospects in sectors such as aviation, public administration, energy, automotive, communication, software, informatics, and automation. The field of electrical and electronics engineering offers abundant job opportunities, especially in this age of technology. Personally, I find this field fascinating and engaging.
I specifically selected Balıkesir University due to several reasons, including the expertise of our teachers, the presence of student clubs, and the availability of diverse social activities. Studying in our department provides the advantage of direct interaction with our professors, enabling us to seek guidance and find answers to many of our inquiries. Moreover, active participation in university clubs allows me to develop myself through projects and activities.
My initial goal after graduation is to secure a position at a reputable company, followed by pursuing a master's degree to further enhance my skills and contribute as a proficient engineer to our country. If you aspire to be part of this technological era, enrich your knowledge, and make a meaningful contribution to society as a competent engineer, you can confidently choose our department.
