Classroom Teaching

Hello dear students. I am Serbülent Paksuz. I work as a lecturer at Trakya University, Faculty of Education, Department of Primary Education. Our department was established in 1992 to train teachers to work in primary schools and has given many graduates. In the department of primary education, courses are offered in three basic areas: teaching profession knowledge, field knowledge and general culture. In addition, students can take elective courses according to their interests. The Faculty of Education is located in İsmail Hakkı Tonguç Campus. Since our campus is newly built, it is quite advanced in terms of physical facilities. We have many classrooms, lecture halls, workshops and special-purpose halls in 3 different buildings. For example, our students can study in specially-purposed and equipped classrooms such as science laboratories and drama workshops. It is essential for our students to practice together with teachers and students in primary schools in order to get prepared for the teaching profession. In this direction, 4th grade students receive internships for 1 full day per week for 1 year. Our students can benefit from international exchange programs such as Erasmus and Mevlana. We have bilateral agreements with many universities, especially in Balkan and European countries. In line with these agreements, our students can benefit from these programs to gain experience. Students who graduate from our program have the opportunity to work as classroom teachers in private and public schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. I recommend them to participate in social and cultural activities. Edirne offers many opportunities to our students since it is a historically, culturally and socially rich city. There are many student communities in our university. Our students can participate in social, cultural and sports activities by joining these communities. At the same time, our university offers scholarship and part-time work opportunities to our students. I wish good luck to the candidates who will take the exam.
