Management Information Systems

Hello, I am Instructor Volkan Demiraslan. I am a lecturer at Trakya University, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Department of Management Information Systems. I have undergraduate and graduate management information systems diplomas. I am also the academic advisor to the Intercivilizational Communication and Culture Society and the Digital Transformation Society. I have been working at Trakya University since 2008. The aim of our 4-year department, which is one of the departments with the highest requirements for entry, is to train IT managers who have internalized Ataturk's principles and reforms, who can remedy the needs of the industry, and who can lead in the stages of management information systems in the public or private sector. As a department, our aim is to teach software and business in a balanced manner. Our department is located in Trakya University’s Ayşekad Campus. In our department, courses such as Algorithm and Programming, Electronic Commerce, Marketing Management and Data Mining are given. We have 2 computer labs and 1 language lab in our faculty. We conduct our applied courses in these laboratories. There is a compulsory internship practice in our department. Our students can complete their compulsory internship of 45 working days starting from the 4th semester. Students who have completed at least one semester in our department and have a GPA of 2.50 can apply to the Erasmus program. In our department, national and international organizations are planned in line with our future goals. With the decision number 2935 of the Interuniversity Board, it was decided that the graduates of management information systems should use the title of Management Information System Specialist. In this context, our graduates can continue their careers in positions such as management information systems specialist, system or data analyst, network security or web design specialist, and in fields such as electronic commerce, management and organization, and marketing management. Our students should take part in research projects in order to include information in their decision mechanisms. In addition to achieving academic success, candidates choosing our department will be able to communicate effectively with our industry-versed academicians and find answers to their academic questions. In addition to its nature and cultural heritage, Trakya University will be waiting for its prospective students with its social campus and active student communities.
