Geyve Vocational School

I am Associate Professor Nermin Akyel, Director of Sakarya Applied Sciences University, Geyve Vocational Schools. I graduated from Geyve Vocational School. Geyve Vocational School is a vocational school established in 1995. Geyve Vocational School continues providing education as a vocational school with social programs. We have 9 programs in this vocational school, including Banking and Insurance, Foreign Trade, Real Estate and Property Management, Public Relations, Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Finance, Accounting and Architecture and Restoration programs. We provide associate degree educations. Our university implements a new system, and we carry out the training we have been providing since 2012, called professional practice training. We have a computer lab in our vocational school, which we offer to our students for educational purposes. We have a technical drawing workshop, which is also used as a drawing workshop for the Architecture and Restoration program. Apart from these, we have a library and besides the 1-month internship requirement at the vocational school, we have an education period that we call practical training, which our university has been implementing since 2012. After receiving 3 semesters of theoretical education, our students have the chance to put their theoretical training into practice by learning sectoral practices in their 4th term at workplaces. I think the first reason for choosing Geyve Vocational School should be its academic staff because we believe that we provide quality good with a strong academic staff. Practical training is very important for us, it should be implemented because it provides job opportunities. Geyve is in a location close to the cities of Istanbul, Ankara, Eskişehir, Bolu, Bursa and Kocaeli. It is possible to come here by road and rail. There is a train station in the Ali Fuat Paşa Neighborhood, so students can also come from Istanbul or Ankara by train. There are bus services to Adapazarı city center. Our students have no problems regarding the commute. The Credit Dormitories Institution has a dormitory in Geyve for boys and girls, which I think is a very important advantage. Until now, there has been no problem regarding the accommodation of students in private dormitories and apartments. I think that this quiet and peaceful district will attract students with its beautiful nature. All units of our university have organized professional practice training and programs, curriculums as well. I think it is very important for students to get acquainted with work while they are students, get to know the sector, and develop and prove themselves. The University that provides this kind of education in Turkey, with all its units, is the University of Applied Sciences. I think Sakarya University of Applied Sciences should be the first choice for students who want to be employed in the future. We really have proven this with our graduates, we have graduates who have achieved great things in great places. We are proud of our university and our students.
