Ferizli Vocation School

Hello friends, I am Professor Aslan Çoban. I have been working as the director of Ferizli Vocational School for about two and a half years. As a staff, I am a faculty member of Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Technology, Department of Mechanical Engineering. Ferizli Vocational School was established in 2005 as a part of Sakarya University. Since 2018, it has been a part of Sakarya University of Applied Sciences. Our vocational school has 6 programs under 4 departments. Under the Department of Design, there is a Graphic Design Program and a Fashion Design Program. We have an Occupational Health and Safety Program under the Property Protection and Security Division. We have a Textile Technology Program that is affiliated with the Department of Clothing, Textile, Footwear and Leather. We also have Business Management and Fashion Management programs affiliated with the Management and Organization Department. Our teaching staff is highly experienced and competent. We have lecturers including industrial engineers, textile engineers and computer and software engineers. There are 5 classrooms, 1 computer laboratory and 2 workshops within our vocational school. Additionally, we have a dining hall and a cafeteria. We have said that there are 6 programs in our school. I would like to mention briefly about the programs. Our students who graduate from the Fashion Design Program can work as a stylist in mold quality control areas in textile and fashion industries. In addition, these students have the opportunity to establish their own businesses. Our Graphic Design Program was established in 2018. This program is one of the popular programs in Ferizli Vocational School. Successful students tend to choose this program because we have a sufficient number of lecturers, workshop and laboratory facilities and package programs. Our students who graduate from this program can also establish their own businesses such as a workshop or a factory, so they can be involved in business life as entrepreneurs. Our Textile Technology Program is one of our oldest programs which has established in 2008. In this program, our students mainly receive practical training. Our students who graduate from this program work in different units of textile and apparel companies. Our students who graduate from the Textile Technology Program also have the opportunity to transfer to a related 4-year departments, especially textile engineering, with the DGS (Vertical Transfer Exam). We have the Business Management Program under the Management and Organization Department. Our students who graduate from the Business Management Program are also employed in the private sector and public sector in areas such as finance, accounting, marketing and human resources departments. Our Fashion Management Program is one of our newly established programs. Our students who graduate from this program can work as sales representatives or brand representatives in the fashion and textile sector, as well as they have the opportunity to establish their own business thanks to the education they receive. We have an Occupational Health and Safety Program under our Property Protection and Security Division. In 2019, we accepted the first student to this program. This program meets the need for qualified occupational safety experts required by the private or public sector. Our students who graduate from this program are employed in sectors such as school campuses, shopping and trade centers, industrial establishments, public areas, fire brigade, civil defense and emergency aid organizations. In addition, our students who graduate from this program have the opportunity to attend 4-year faculties with DGS.
Ferizli Vocational School has a history of 16 years. Therefore, it is an experienced vocational school. Our educational and administrative staff are competent. In addition, one of the strongest aspects of our university and our vocational school is the 3+1 model. In this model, our students spend 3 semesters of their 4-semester education life taking practical and theoretical lessons at school and 1 semester in the sector. Regarding their profession, we send our students to the industry and service sector. The advantage of this is that our students experience both the difficulties and the joys of business life before they graduate. Thus, when they graduate, they graduate as experienced and knowledgeable students. Sakarya University of Applied Sciences has a history of about 50 years. Our city of Sakarya is a city preferred by students thanks to its natural beauties and industry and service organizations. It is a center preferred by students due to its location in the east of Marmara, its proximity to major centers, and the diversity of transportation opportunities, and it is also a university city. Approximately 10% of the city population consists of university students. Sakarya University of Applied Sciences is a university preferred by our students with its strong infrastructure and faculty staff.
