I am Associate Professor Sinan Esen. I am the deputy dean of our faculty. Our school was established in 2012 as a college. It was transformed into a faculty in 2019. The building where our school is located is in Kaynarca district, 35 kilometers from Sakarya center. When we look at the departments in our school, we can say that we are an export-oriented faculty. We have 3 departments in our faculty: International Trade and Logistics, International Trade and Finance and finally Finance and Banking Department. Among these departments, the Department of International Trade and Logistics was our first department to be established. It was established in 2014 and had its first graduates in 2018. The International Trade and Finance Department was established in 2020. Currently, most of our students are studying in the English preparatory class. Our Finance and Banking Department is now a passive department. We are planning to take students there in the coming years. Our academicians are professors who have articles or books in indexed journals with competence in their fields. I think more important than that is that all of our professors are student-oriented. Our students can reach their professors whenever they want and receive academic support from them. We provide training for basic office programs in our computer lab. At the same time, we also provide customs declaration software training, which is only available in a few universities in Turkey. In order to improve the use of English, we established a cafe called English Cafe. This is a structure established for the first time in a faculty in Turkey. In this cafe, our students are only allowed to speak English. They are not allowed to speak Turkish inside. Thus, we aim to improve their language skills.
Our university has implemented the 7+1 internship program for the first time in our country. The 7+1 internship program is a program where theoretical education is given at the school for 7 terms, and a 10-16 week internship is completed at workplaces in the last term. In this program, we aim for our students to adapt easily to the business world. By doing a 16-week internship in the last period, we aim for them to continue working in the companies they did internship after graduation. When our students graduate from our faculty, they mainly work in foreign trade and logistics companies. Our country has been following an economic growth policy based on foreign trade and export since 1980. For this reason, we observe that companies in our country seriously need foreign trade experts. Therefore, when our students graduate, they can work as qualified personnel in their workplaces. We are an export-oriented faculty. Our basic education is in the field of export, logistics, foreign trade. Since the economic growth policy of our country is parallel to this, our rate of job placement in the first year is around 70-80%. If our students do not want to have difficulties in finding a job, they can choose our faculty. Our University set out with "We Integrate Knowledge With Skill!” slogan. The integration of knowledge with skills enables our students to find a job in the business world and to adapt to the business world easily. In this sense, our university is the first university to carry out this mission in Turkey. Therefore, our prospective students will benefit themselves if they choose our university. Students who prefer our faculty will work mainly in exporting companies. Therefore, they will have international connections and have the opportunity to make business trips abroad. I especially recommend our students to learn English well and to have English language proficiency. Our 2 departments already have compulsory English. Our other department also has an optional preparatory class. If our students learn English well and complete our training successfully, they will be able to work in very good companies and travel the world while earning money. We expect all our students who dream of this dream to our faculty.
