Arifiye Vocational School
I am Professor Can Haşimoğlu. I am the Director of Arifiye Vocational School, Sakarya Applied Sciences University. Arifiye Vocational School was established in 2011. In 2012, the first student has been admitted to Automotive Technologies, Auto Paint and Carbody and Welding Technology programs. Arifiye district hosts the important industrial establishments of our country within its borders. It has wide business opportunities, especially in the automotive and manufacturing industries. Many sub-industry organizations working for large factories and the 1st Organized Industrial Site are also within the borders of our district. The establishment purpose of our vocational school is to train technicians who are needed by these businesses. These large factories are located within the borders of our district. Our Arifiye Vocational School has graduated approximately 500 students from Automotive Technologies, Automotive Paint and Carbody, Welding Technology, Occupational Health and Safety, Air Conditioning and Cooling Technology programs since its establishment. In our Arifiye Vocational School, we have active students in 5 departments and 6 programs. These; Automotive Technology, Auto Paint and Carbody Program, Welding Technology, Occupational Health and Safety, Air Conditioning and Cooling Technology and Mechatronics Program. Our academicians, who work in our department, are successful members who are competent in their fields, who have market experience and advanced application skills, who work project-oriented, adopt and develop strategic corporate partnerships with a focus on continuous improvement. In our Arifiye Vocational School, the project of establishing an engine test and simulation laboratory, supported by the Financial Support Program for the Development of Vocational Education for Manufacturing Industry of the Eastern Marmara Development Agency, is being carried out. Within the scope of the project, a 350 square meter laboratory building is being constructed. Our university's Rectorate and Arifiye Municipality provide technical and financial contributions to the laboratory construction carried out within the scope of the project. When the project is completed, we will have 10 computer simulation laboratories, 1 large-capacity engine test room and a general vocational training area that all program students can use jointly. The project is planned to be completed in September 2021.
3+1 model is applied in all our programs in Arifiye Vocational School. In addition, our students in all our programs do a compulsory 30-day summer internship. Cooperation protocols have been signed with businesses in our region, including internship opportunities. Our students who graduated from Automotive Technology and Auto Paint and Carbody Program can work in automotive main and sub-industry factories, authorized and private automobile services that provide after-sales services, automotive purchase and sale enterprises, authorized automobile sales galleries, companies that provide automotive expertise services and tire rod balancing services. Our students who graduate from the Welding Technology Program can work in a wide range of industrial enterprises such as automotive machinery manufacturing and shipbuilding. Our students who graduate from the Occupational Health and Safety Program can find employment opportunities in almost all business areas from agriculture to industry, from mining to energy. As it is known, businesses in the dangerous and very dangerous class must legally employ an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist. For this reason, students who graduate from the Occupational Health and Safety Program have a wide range of employment. Our students who graduate from the Air Conditioning Technology Program can work in enterprises where heating, cooling and ventilation systems are produced and maintained. Our Mechatronics Program graduates can work in many areas such as health, automotive, machine manufacturing, communication, space technologies in companies that make robotic applications. Both faculties and vocational schools at Sakarya University of Applied Sciences apply the +1 program. With this program, unlike other schools, we direct the student to the industry for 1 semester and they do their internships in the businesses there. This allows the student to integrate knowledge with skill. At the same time, from the moment they graduate from school, it increases the opportunities to get a job in the place where they did their internship. Thus, our graduates are more advantageous than other faculties and vocational schools. I wish success to the candidates who will choose our university and vocational school.
