Karasu Vocational School

Hello people, this is Associate Professor Sedat Durmuskaya. I am the Director of Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, Karasu Vocational School. Our school was established on November 24, 2000 in order to meet the intermediate staff needs of the Karasu region. We are talking about a college with a history of about 20 years. Our school is operating with 6 programs today, with 4 main programs since its establishment and 2 more programs that were added later on. During this 20-year period, it has provided approximately 5000 students to the labor market of our country. We have 6 programs currently active in our university. These programs are Accounting and Tax Applications, Computer Programming, Multi-Modeling and Animation, Tourism and Travel Management, Machinery and Metal Technologies and Welding Technology programs. In addition, we provide education and training activities in these programs together with 3 associate professors, 2 doctor lecturers and 12 lecturers. Students who graduate from the Accounting and Tax Applications Program can begin working in the financial affairs department of businesses, in departments such as accounting or finance. Students who graduate from the Tourism and Travel Management Program can work in the tourism sector, in all departments of tourism and travel businesses. Similarly, students who graduated from Computer Programming or Multidimensional Modeling and Animation Program can also find work in the private sector; in the computer and network units of companies. They can seize opportunities for employment by working in marketing, advertising or modeling companies. With the Machine and Welding Technology Program, in which we contribute to the heavy industry, we are trying to prepare the intermediate workforce for the industry. This education system separates our university and college from many universities in our country and around the world. In this educational model, students complete their education by working full-time outside, in the industry and businesses, undertaking workplace training after 3 semesters of theoretical education at school. This workplace education also makes a significant contribution to our students so they can gain work experience before they graduate. Therefore, for the candidates who want to choose our university and the programs in our school, the work experience they have gained with this workplace education before graduating will make it easier for them to find jobs after graduation.
