Hello, I am Associate Professor Nihat Kurt, I am the Director of Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, Hendek Vocational School. Our school was established in 1994 with the purpose of ensuring the development of the social, economic and cultural structure of the district in which it is located, and on the other hand, to provide the qualified workforce required by the sector. Hendek district, where our school is located, is easily accessible. It is located approximately 35 kilometers east of the Sakarya province. Our vocational school has 10 programs, 8 of which are technical and 2 are social. Our social programs consist of business and accounting programs. Technical programs consist of electrical electronics, machinery, machine painting and construction, construction, computer programming, furniture decoration and interior design programs. Our school has a highly competent and experienced academic staff consisting of 1 associate professor, 5 doctor lecturers, 23 lecturers, making a total of 29 lecturers. In our vocational school, we have workshops and laboratories that will meet the needs of our current programs in terms of technical and physical infrastructure. In this respect, we have 5 workshops, 4 computer rooms, 3 technical drawing rooms and 13 classrooms with visual education equipment. Our university acts is a university that integrates knowledge with experience. Our university does this with the +1 application model. Within the framework of this model, our students receive practical training at workplaces for 16 weeks. There are also compulsory 30-day summer internship programs. Practical training and internships in our curriculum make great contributions to our students in increasing their experience. Students get ready for work before they graduate. Students who graduate from our school can work as intermediate staff in industrial organizations in various levels of professional fields, both in local, regional and country-wide workplaces. In addition, our graduates have the right to use vertical transfer. By taking the vertical transfer exam, they can continue their education in faculties in related fields. With the education given in our school, training is given to meet the need for qualified, well-equipped intermediate staff in the relevant fields. We make work hard to make sure that our graduates become sought-after professionals rather than intermediate level staff.
In our vocational school, it is extremely important to have programs that continuously provide education, to have professional recognition and, most importantly, to be suitable for employment. To continue improving our school, we cooperate with both industrial organizations and businesses. From time to time, our school undertakes applications in the form of project studies.
