My name is Yerassyl, I am Kazakh. I am a senior student at Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, Department of Civil Engineering. I have been in Sakarya since 2015. One of the reasons I chose Sakarya University of Applied Sciences is that it provides practical training. For example, it offers us internship opportunities for 4 years. During this internship period, we are provided with insurance and a salary of 1/3 of the minimum wage, during the internship period in the fourth grade. This is a great advantage for the student. After graduation, we can comfortably find employment with a year of work experience. I had doubts before coming to Turkey from Kazakhstan. In Kazakhstan, primary and secondary education’s duration is 11 years, and in Turkey, it’s 12. There is a one-year difference. I thought I would have difficulties in basic courses such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry since it was an engineering department. But thanks to the study environment provided by our university, I was able to overcome these problems comfortably. In the last year of high school, I came across the advertisement for foreign student exams for education in Turkey. I took the Almaty YÖS Exam held in Kazakhstan and applied to several universities with this exam. I got accepted to 16 universities throughout Turkey and I chose this university, the Sakarya University of Applied Sciences. After I started to study at Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, I can say that I improved my social skills. Because here, there is the Kazakhstan Student Club, in which we actively participate. Since I was the chair of this community, we organized a few events. I got great references through these activities in cooperation with public institutions. I do not think that I have encountered any problems during my life in Sakarya, because this is a student city. All facilities are provided to us and I don't think any student will have much trouble. I am very pleased with the academic work and academic staff of our university. For example; our head of department, Professor Metin İpek, has produced the most powerful pressure-resistant concrete, a first in Turkey. I can give many examples like this. Our academic staff is great and offers us very good quality education. I visited many cities in Turkey and had the opportunity to see many universities. In comparison, Sakarya University of Applied Sciences offers a distinct advantage. This place offers a privilege to the student with the opportunities it offers in the campus environment. If you want to have an applied education and have an international diploma, Sakarya University of Applied Sciences should be your choice. After graduating from here, I would like to return to my country and start working there. I wish success to the friends who will choose our university.
