Physic
Hello everyone, my name is Alper Koray Güner. I am a graduate student at Trakya University, Faculty of Science, Department of Physics. Today I will give you information about Trakya University’s Physics Department. The Department of Physics has emerged to explain and investigate the universe, the smallest building block of the universe, even subatomic particles, existence, energy and power. Trakya University Physics Department aims to teach its students to research, develop, and produce questions to be a scientist. Trakya University Physics Department is located on our central campus in the center of Edirne. Our department offers various courses, from numerical calculations and electronic knowledge to classical physics and cosmology. In addition to these, Trakya University Physics Department offers many elective courses, both inside and outside the field. Thus, it was deemed appropriate for the students to take courses related to their general abilities and interests. Finally, it is aimed that the students will graduate with a practical experience by giving practical lessons. There are many laboratories at Trakya University. Some of these provide basic computer knowledge and coding knowledge. At the same time, we have 4 general physics laboratories, electronic laboratories and mechatronics laboratories to support these courses. Besides these, there are also research labs such as liquid state physics and molecular dynamics simulations research lab, polymer physics research lab and solid-state physics research labs. In Trakya University, Department of Physics, a final project is required for graduation. Students are asked to find a new problem or consider, apply and present a solution to an existing problem. Thus, it is aimed at students gaining experience about the problems they will encounter after graduation. Trakya University has an optional internship application. After graduating from Trakya University Physics Department, the title of physicist is given. With the title of physicist, we can work as scientists or become academics. We can work as experts in institutions such as the Turkish Atomic Energy Agency, TUBITAK (Turkish Scientific and Technological Research Council), and ASELSAN (Military Electronic Industry). After graduation, pedagogical formation can be done both in the public and private sectors by pursuing a master's degree without thesis. At the same time, we can work in the science industry in R&D (research-development), P&D (product development) consultant, that is, as a research and development and product development specialist. Due to the multidisciplinary structure of our department, we have the right to participate in certificate programs. After successfully completing these programs, we can perform as occupational safety specialists, hazardous material safety consultants, standard compliance auditors or financial and social compliance audits. The reason I chose the Department of Physics was that physics is a branch of science that needs to examine and scrutinize every visible and invisible aspect of the universe. It was during these investigations that physics benefited from all branches of engineering, mathematics and chemistry. The multidisciplinary structure that these benefits eventually brought to the person was an important reason for me to choose the Department of Physics. The reason why I chose this department at Trakya University was because of the academic staff and the active role of the academic staff in scientific studies, which made me think that the education I would receive would be of high quality. For this reason, I preferred Trakya University, Department of Physics. After graduating, by pursuing a postgraduate degree, I want to become an academician. I recommend the candidates to travel around Thrace Region by bicycle, to visit the historical spots of the city, to photograph this city, which was once the capital of the Ottoman Empire, and to experience the social life when they come to Trakya University. I wish success to the students who will take the exam. I look forward to meeting you.
