Elementary School Mathematics Teacher

Hello dear students, I am Dilek Girit Yıldız. I am a lecturer at Trakya University, Department of Mathematics Education. The Department of Mathematics Teaching was opened in the 1999-2000 academic year to train branch teachers in the field of mathematics and became operational in the 2013-2014 academic year. Within the scope of the Program, there are mathematics education courses such as teaching numbers that require field education, pure mathematics courses such as analysis, algebra, educational sciences and general culture courses. We have a classroom belonging to our department to be used especially in our mathematics education courses. In this classroom, there are tables suitable for group work, and tools and materials such as unit cubes and fraction cards used in mathematics education lessons. Within the scope of the undergraduate program, students do internships within the scope of the teaching practice course in the 4th grades for 2 semesters. Within the scope of this internship, students are prepared for the profession by observing lessons in secondary schools and giving lectures under the guidance of a department lecturer and a mathematics teacher. Our students have the opportunity to participate in exchange programs such as Mevlana, Erasmus and Farabi. By participating in these programs, our students have the opportunity to improve themselves by going abroad. Our graduates will have the opportunity to work in public and private schools of the Ministry of National Education. Our graduate students have achieved significant success in the KPSS (public personnel selection exam).
