Hello, I'm Başak Gençler. I'm 20 years old. I am a 2nd year student at Trakya University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology. Our department is located in the Balkan Campus of Trakya University. The Department of Biology is one of the departments that first came to life when the Faculties of Science and Letters were established in 1982. The Department of Biology is a department established to understand living creatures and all living systems. In our department, there are courses such as General Biology, General Microbiology, Molecular Microbiology, Limnology, Hydrobiology, Zoology, Taxonomy, Animal Taxonomy, and Plant Morphology. There are 6 application laboratories and 12 research laboratories in our department. Examples of these are general biology laboratory, limnology laboratory, and microbiology laboratory. Our department has a compulsory internship practice for at least 20 working days starting from the 6th term. We can do this internship in private or public institutions that our internship commission deems appropriate. After graduating from our department, we can work in required laboratories in private or public hospitals, medical practice laboratories, research laboratories, embryology laboratories, necessary ministries and in the field of food microbiology. Our department is an accredited department. The happiness of helping people and animals is worth everything, that is why I chose this department. I chose Trakya University because of its large campus, ease of transportation, laboratory facilities and excellent academic staff. After graduation, I want to get my master's degree and doctorate in the field of microbiology or embryology and help people, animals and the environment. My advice to the candidates first of all, please don't give up, you may have difficulties, we all struggled, but after giving all your focus to your department, it's a really great experience. You will be very lucky because we have a strong academic staff, a very nice campus, and summer festivals; You will have so much fun.
