Hello, I'm Ergin Toros. I work as a research assistant at Trakya University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing. Our department consists of 9 main branches under the roof of the Faculty of Health Sciences. These main branches are Nursing Fundamentals, Internal Medicine Nursing, Surgical Nursing, Child Health and Diseases Nursing, Women's Health and Diseases Nursing, Mental Health and Diseases Nursing, Public Health Nursing, Nursing Management and Nursing Education Majors. Our department is accredited by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Nursing Programs. We offer Basic medical courses such as anatomy and biochemistry in our department's curriculum; Common compulsory courses such as Atatürk's principles and history of revolution, Turkish language and foreign language; and We have non-university elective courses and professional applied courses that students can choose. We also offer vocational courses such as nursing principles, internal medicine nursing and surgical diseases nursing. There are 2 professional practice laboratories in our department. The first of these is used in nursing fundamentals, internal medicine nursing and surgical diseases nursing courses. Our second laboratory is used in child health and diseases nursing, women's health and diseases nursing courses. In our department, the applications of vocational courses are carried out at vocational practice places every year. In our department, students can benefit from exchange programs for Balkan and European countries within the scope of Erasmus and Mevlana Exchange programs, which include education and internship mobility. Our department hosted the 19th National Nursing Students Congress on 3-4 June 2021. In addition, our department also organizes events such as seminars, workshops and symposiums. Students who will graduate from our department can work in institutions that provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd level Health Services. In addition, they can specialize in a particular field by continuing their graduate education. Differently, they can work in different fields by meeting certain criteria by enrolling in certification programs. Diabetes education nursing, occupational health nursing and intensive care nursing can be given as examples. Our advice to the candidates who will prefer our department will be that they should first decide whether they can pursue the nursing profession or not. After deciding to pursue the nursing profession, they should check whether the relevant department is accredited. Since our department is an accredited institution, our training is given within a certain standard. Our university offers students social facilities, a library that is open 24/7, student clubs, and a Life Center. In addition, our students can benefit from the social facilities in Karaağaç Campus. Our university provides students with the opportunity to live on campus. In addition, our library, which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, serves our students. Our students can join student clubs to ensure social cohesion. We wish you success in your exams.
