Faculty of Dentistry

Hello, I'm Şebnem Buse Candar. I am one of the first graduates of Trakya University. I am working as a research assistant at Trakya University, Department of Prosthetic Dentistry. Trakya University’s Faculty of Dentistry was established in 2011. It started to accept its first students in the academic year of 2015-2016. Our faculty also accepts foreign students and is located in the Balkan Campus. The aim of our faculty is to train specialist and competent dentists. In our faculty, you will take basic medical science courses such as Pathology, Physiology, Histology for the first 3 years, as well as professional theoretical courses. Afterwards, you will practical courses in the 4th and 5th grades. There are 2 clinics and 1 pre-clinical laboratory in our faculty. In our pre-clinics, you will have the opportunity to practice on models that imitate teeth and surrounding tissues. In our Faculty of Dentistry, we provide internship opportunities to our students. Our students do internships as observers in the 3rd grade and as physicians in the 4th and 5th grades. Our university offers exchange programs such as Erasmus, Farabi, and Mevlana. Students of our faculty have the option to study in a total of 150 different countries. Future congresses are planned in our faculty. Our students who graduate from our faculty can practice dentistry both in the oral and dental health centers of the Ministry of Health and in private clinics. Those who wish can take the DUS (Dentistry Specialization Examination) and receive specialization training in 8 different branches. Those who wish can also pursue an academic career. The students who will come to our faculty will be subject to a very intensive and rigorous education, both theoretically and practically. That's why I recommend you to work in a very disciplined way throughout your entire education life. Edirne is a student city. When you come here, you will find clubs at our university that will appeal to your interests. In addition, Trakya University provides many scholarships and study opportunities to all its students.
