Landscape Architecture

Hello, I am Research Assistant Emine Çoban Şahin. I am a lecturer at the Department of Landscape Architecture. Landscape Architecture Department is within the Faculty of Architecture and was established in 2011. The aim of our department is to create environments where people can live by using the natural and cultural environment. Our department has been providing education with its multidisciplinary teaching staff since its establishment. We have a young, dynamic and innovative staff. Our department is located at the Macedonian Campus, Faculty of Architecture. We have planning and design-oriented courses. We also provide plant-based training. We offer courses in design, planning and plant science. In addition to our compulsory courses, we also have elective courses that students can take according to their interests. In addition to the elective courses of our department, our students can also choose elective courses from other departments of the faculty. We have workshops where applied courses and project courses are held. We have workshops, one for the graduation project and one for the model workshop. Practical lessons are given in these workshops. Our department has an herbarium and tissue culture laboratory. In addition to these, our students benefit from the computer laboratories and the library in our faculty. In addition, a wide variety of activities are held in the Mimar Sinan Amphitheater. We have a total of sixty days of compulsory internship, 20 days in the nursery, 20 days in the office and 20 days in the construction site. We also have a compulsory graduation project. Our students put the knowledge they have learned in theoretical and applied courses into practice in the graduation project. Our department offers Erasmus exchange program. In previous years, we sent students to Italy, Norway and France. In the following years, we aim to send more students to many different countries. In our department, many different activities such as conferences, seminars, and workshops are held. In addition, events are held on many important dates, especially the 13 May National Landscape Architecture Day. Technical trips are made in the city and outside the city. Our students can work in planning and design offices, construction companies, nurseries, public institutions and organizations and municipalities. My advice to the candidates who will prefer our department is to research and examine the curriculum of the departments they intend to choose. Trakya University, is a university that is renewed, developing and changing day by day, offers many opportunities to our students in terms of social and cultural activities. Our university is especially supportive in establishing student clubs. We welcome all students to Trakya University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Landscape Architecture.
