Hello everyone. My name is Fochie Donald. I am from Cameroon and I am studying at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University. My department is Computer Engineering. I come from Cameroon, a beautiful country located in Central Africa. I have been in Turkey and Tokat for about 9 months. After completing secondary education, I was considering a place to choose for higher education. My destination was this beautiful university, Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University. The promotional videos I watched before I came and the school's inclusion in the Erasmus program were effective in my choice. Before I came to Turkey, I was wondering about the people in Turkey, the food here and the state of the student dormitories. I can say right now that this place met my expectations. The people here are extroverts and always ready to help if you have any problems. That's one of my favorite things about this place.
The story of my arrival in Turkey and Tokat is a bit long. But let me try to explain briefly. When I completed secondary education, my wish was to enroll in a university in a beautiful country and good university. As a result of my long research on the internet, I came across Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University. Fortunately, the YÖS exam was held in my country and after I entered and passed the exam, I chose the Computer Engineering Department. And right now I'm studying in the department which I dreamed about in Tokat, Turkey. I have become quite social. I learned a lot from people in Turkey because they are very open and always ready to help. The best thing I learned from them was that we should always have a good attitude towards people. In addition, cultural aspects, different understandings of entertainment, different dances and music also helped me become more social. I have also had great academic success. First of all, I learned Turkish here, one of the most beautiful languages in the world. I am very happy to have gained this knowledge here. Because it is a language that is quite different from languages that I know. During my time here, university staff always helped me when I had any problems. Whenever I had a problem, the staff in the office offered me a cup of coffee first, waited for me to calm down, and then gave me time to explain the problem I was having. Because foreign students need more help when they have any problems. Such an approach implemented by the university staff shows the quality of education and staff of this school.
If I had to talk about the quality of education, the word I would use would be "excellent". It's perfect because the teachers are very welcoming and helpful. For example, if there is anything in the course that you do not understand, the instructors help you at the end of the lesson. Together with our teachers and other students, we sometimes go out to eat or drink Turkish coffee or play various games to improve our Turkish while enjoying the fresh air in the garden. Unfortunately, since I came to Turkey, I could only visit Sivas and Istanbul. Although I did not spend much time there, I can say that Istanbul is much more crowded and noisy when compared to Tokat. But in this city, you have the opportunity to study in a quiet environment. Without stress or anything. The environment here is really calm and the air is very clean. The advice I can give to foreign students is that before choosing a university, make sure that the place you choose offers you a quality education. Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University is one of the unique schools not only in Turkey, but also in Asia and Europe. For this reason, I recommend you to choose this university. The quality of education is really great. Our teachers are great. Our classrooms are well equipped. In addition, exchange programs such as Erasmus and Farabi are among the biggest advantages we have. You can benefit from these programs throughout your education. This is one of the most important factors when choosing a university. We are waiting for you all.
