Mevlana Exchange Program

My name is Melih Taştan. I am a PhD lecturer. I am the Mevlana Exchange Program Institutional Coordinator. I have been in this position since January, 2019. Mevlana exchange program is a program which is established by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). It became operational in 2011. All registered students at our university, whether they are Turkish citizens or foreign nationals, can benefit from the Mevlana exchange program. The first condition for the Mevlana exchange program application is that the student is still enrolled in our university at that time. Our students are required to have a grade point average of 2.50 out of 4 for undergraduate and associate degrees, and 3 out of 4 for graduate and doctorate degrees. The application period for the Mevlana exchange program starts in February and March every year with the instruction of YOK. In this period, we inform students about the date of the language exams. We prepare the questions for this language exam ourselves, and our students' language scores are determined according to the grade point average obtained as a result of this exam. Our students do not have to pay any tuition fees when they benefit from our exchange program. YÖK allocates a certain budget each year for the Mevlana Exchange Programme. These budgets are distributed to our students by us. Through these scholarships, our students cover their own expenses at the universities they enroll in. Exchange programs provide a lot of benefits to our students and improve their foreign language proficiencies. At the same time, it enables them to get to know different cultures and supports their personal development. For this reason, it is important for us that all our students apply to exchange programs. Through this exchange program, we want to help you improve your language skills, get to know foreign cultures and help you understand the world.
