Erasmus Exchange Programı

I am, Fehim Kuruoğlu. I am a lecturer in the Department of History. I work as the Erasmus Institutional Coordinator of our university. I have been doing this work for about two and a half years. The Erasmus program is an exchange program between European Union member countries and candidate countries in the fields of education, training, youth and sports. Turkey started to participate in this exchange program, which has been going on since 1987 among the member states of the European Union, since 2004. We, as Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, have been a part of this program since 2007. In order to apply for the Erasmus program, you must first be a student for 1 semester. Then, when our university makes an Erasmus announcement, you apply online for this announcement. Academic success is our prerequisite for you to apply. If you have a grade point average of at least 2.20 out of 4, and 58 out of 100, you can apply to the program. Our university's School of Foreign Languages determines the language proficiency in the Erasmus exam. We assign our college as the institutional coordinator. There is a exam in the form of a test which they conduct. Students who are successful in this test are then included in an interview exam. All of these exams are administered by the School of Foreign Languages Coordinator. Subsequently, those students who score above 50 are considered successful and they subject for further evaluation. Our students do not have to pay any fees, neither in the exam application nor in the program in order to participate in the Erasmus program. On top of that, our students who are entitled to go within the scope of the Erasmus program receive grants. Our students who are included in the Erasmus program usually participate in internship mobility and learning mobility programs. Donation is made to all these students taking part in these activities in a way to meet minimum living standards in the country where they go from European Union funds. Erasmus program is actually a cultural program, not just an exchange program. It is a program in which all the member societies of the European Union, countries and neighboring states of Europe get to know each other and socialize with each other. We want all of our students to benefit from this program, and approximately 100 of our students participate in this program every year. I hope we will make you Erasmus students too. As of 2021, our university has over 100 Erasmus agreements. These numbers are expected to increase in the coming years.
